The programme makers always like to shake up the the leader board at this stage of the competition to keep the interest of the viewers. It happened in Strictly this year too. On a theme night Harry Judd got a rhumba while everyone else had up tempo number with props/costumes. He ended up 4th even although he was the best dancer by a mile. On DOI San Attwater's prop was a hat which was changed at the last minute. It was softer than the original and he dropped it. Last night Jorgie and Matt had a slow, simple routine and were dressed in normal skating outfits while everyone else had up tempo routines with striking costumes and more props. The throwing of the stick could have been a disaster. It was hoped they would drop it. Well done to them! I think the production team knew that Jorgie and Matt would not be in the skate off just as in Strictly they knew Harry and Aliona were popular enough to survive the low marks. I also do not think Robin's first mark was an accident either. It was meant to add to the drama of the night.
