priced at £6999. Expensive but will it catch on. Will Panasonic and Sony follow suit or make it better.

Dunno, the review I have seen say it's 3D is very underwhelming.

The problem we found is that the 3D effect is so minimal as to be almost unnoticeable.

The 3D picture was sub-full HD, too, despite the high resolution of the panel. This is because the lenticular lenses filter the light into nine different sweet spots, diluting the resolution in the process.

Do you care much for 3D Deacon. It's kind of worn off for me. I don't watch as much 3D as I used too. Just the occasional movie or program on Sky's 3D channel

To be honest I'm more interested in it now than I have been, that's because I have found a 3D add on for my PJ, apparently the 3D is second to none, they say it's down to DLP technology, something to do with the speed of the colour wheel. I know the novelty will probably wear off in time, but for a couple of hundred quid to have 3D on a 100" screen it's got to be worth trying.

This tv could herald next gen HD. The tv upscales current 1080p content to around four times higher resolution to give ultra-high definition! Connect the tv to a Bluray player or other HD source (such as a PC) and the tv will upscale the image. This is great because it means all current Bluray discs are not going to be obsolete. The tracking motion sensor allows the viewer to watch the 3D from a wider angle and not a small 'sweet spot' area directly in line with the centre of the screen.

I know the novelty will probably wear off in time, but for a couple of hundred quid to have 3D on a 100" screen it's got to be worth trying.
That's the problem. Will the price ever come down?

I think the price - nearly 7 thousand pounds - is going to ruin its chances, how many people are going to buy one for their home!, but this technology can be used at big events.

There is the other issue about 3D giving you eyestrain and headaches so even if you can afford this tv it's a 'try before you buy' product. The 3Ds games console - glasses free 3D - can give the user a headache so I'm sure every glasses free tv can do the same. I wonder how many potential buyers of these tvs will return them complaining of headaches. It happened with the 3DS. And can you imagine if you returned the tv to the shop and they said "sorry, you can't have a refund because there's nothing wrong with the tv."

3D tv may never be a true success because our eyes are not designed to see flat images in 3D.
