why would he get a warning and why will we have to wait and see? ... it's not like they'd make an announcement saying that "Louie got told off as he dared to give a low mark to a contestant"

he may have given a mark that some people don't agree with but it's hardly a crime ...it's not like it cost Jorgie her place on the show ... I honestly can't see whey there is so much over reaction to it, judges have marked contravercially on these shows for years

If he is it makes the whole judging panel redundant if they're only there to pay lip serviceT&D's choreography and opinions.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it wasn't all planned to cause controversy and therefore raise the ratings. It seems to be working so far.

I think some of the reasons the ratings have dropped is that they've taken away some of the good skaters, the ones that people used to like lots, Fred and Mel for example.

T&D are producing duller routines, Karen is spouting rubbish, and, as has been said, the programme is just long and tedious.

For me, the judging panel is the best it's ever been. Really good this year and I'm one of those who thought I would be scudding through Louie's remarks, but I quite enjoy him, a breath of fresh air.

So please ITV don't get rid of him, get rid of Karen doing what she doesn't do, T&D's choreography (bring in Fred and Mel, Andrei and Susie, oh just someone else!), get a better audience floor manager (hate the boos, the yelling etc).

Keep Louie, please

He won't be booted over one duff mark, but he might be encouraged to be a bit more objective in his marking, rather than basing it too much on what he personally likes, or what personally bores him. That's what it felt like he did when he marked Jorgie down, or when he undermarked Sebastien earlier in the series.

The reason he's at risk is that being a "dance expert" is not particularly unique. There are thousands of them in the UK with just as much experience and dance qualifications as him. His edge was that he'd already been on tv and had a tabloid profile. If they don't care about getting another celeb on the panel, he would be very easy to replace.

I have found Louie fairly annoying, but he's had good weeks and bad weeks. Just as I think he's doing well, he does and says something stupid, or makes it all about himself. If he is back next year, I hope he learns a bit more about skating, or takes advice from the skating experts as to how difficult a routine is before marking a person down for being "boring". I'm not saying he's to mark the skating, but he can't just pretend the contestant isn't doing that. At least Jason always seemed to take that into account, but he could skate and knew enough about it to respect that side of things, even if he wasn't marking it.

The most annoying thing about Louie is that he acts as if Robin and Katarina don't know anything about performance, and that he's representing the views of the general public.

i really think the judging panel is very good, but what is turning me and others i know off is the totally over the top amount of adverts, and in such a short space of time! and the stupid competition , it just drives me mad!
if they are worried about viewing figures they should sort this out now!

Louie's problem is that he's not qualified to mark the wider performance, and he doesn't understand the issues involved in marking. He's defined himself as a dancing judge, can't judge acting and confuses marking the choregraphy with marking the performance of it. He just imposes his view of what the exam question should be, rather than marking the answers to the questions set.

Robin is qualified to judge anything Louie claims to be there to mark. The problem with Robin is he is fighting a campaign to stress technical skills and make them more important to the show. Thats backfired and he's become a second Nicky marking irrelevances - but with no Jason, Enmma or his past self to take a wider perspective. He's also joined Len Goodman in voting for any bloke that looks like doing it the way he would do it. Meanwhile, Louie seems to be marking males the same way as Bruno did in the last series of SCD.

Katerina is doing a better job than both of them , with the odd very odd mark as she changes criteria too much. I think, rewatching it, she was actually right about Chemmy over Chico - as a complete act Chemmy was better and if the other two had marked the rouines like they did Jorgie's, Chemmy probably had it on content and skating as well as acting.

With only three judges, all these issues show up more than they do with 5, and just one odd judge. You end up in the worst of both world's - there's less panto for that audience, and the attempt to make the judging more credible, has made it less so.

I wasn't a Louie fan before DOI and I haven't been converted. I think he does an OK job as a judge but feel his marking tend to be erratic and based on his personal performance preferences.

Both Katerina and Robin are far better qualified to judge skating performance and choreography imo. He adds nothing to the show for me personally. I assume ITV thought his presence might attract viewers but that doesn't seem to have worked.

I agree. I don't think Louie is the problem at all and overall I find him a good judge.

This is a fair comment and I agree. Why do we need a biased performance judge? We need another ex ice-skater who can judge on everything, as can Robin and Katarina.

I agree - skating judges are capable of judging performance as a whole without ignoring the technical issues which Louie does. I will probably get shot down in flames for saying this by some but I'd love to see Nicky back. I think it would be good for the show to have an ice dancer or pairs skater on the panel. I didn't always agree with Nicky but I liked the fact that he was prepared to go out on a limb sometimes.

I quite like Nicky, I love him when he is presenting on Eurosport. I agree, they should bring him back. As least he knows what he is talking about.

I'd like Nicky back too

Three judges that can mark on performance and skating

Almost certainly, along with the whole show which surely can't stagger into 2013
