My thoughts, for what they're worth

They opened the whole thing up to criticism giving her one prop and the others multiple - was this done on purpose so the judges would have reason to mark her down and make negative comments

Considering she is usually in first or second place, marking her in last place seemed odd to say the least, especially with her making no mistakes. If Matt had dropped the ribbon, the marking down would have been understandable

It also seems strange that all the others had a proper circus character and told a story, while Jorgie just had a regular 'dance' performance (with ribbon to enhance it). What did it have to do with a circus

We've still got 'Last week on Dancing On Ice'...to come, going over the whole drama again

Agreed - it's a good few years since I've been to a circus but never seen Rythmic Gymnastics at one.

True. There are always a couple of random aspects of each DOI week, such as the routine being beyond their control. In props week, this is magnified by the nature of the theme being that the props are not equal. Some are more difficult than others, some suit particular performers and some props suit certain music better. I do not see other contestants performing the same routine/prop/music very much different. I do not have allegiance to any one person. I think the balance and differences of the last couple of weeks is what has made this, for me, more interesting that a few earlier series.

An aside... after the last skills test, I rather they would not repeat as I fear another much admired couple will go out in unfortunate circumstances.

I don't know why all the Matthew fans are getting all up tight. You know that Matthew will go straight to the final so why post snarky comments, theres no point at all. We all know that Matthew is the judges favourite.

I agree, this thread is nasty and there is no need for it.

No there are no gymnastics at a circus - was it invented to give Jorgie another pretty outfit and routine

The theme was pretty weak actually as there is not much scope in it

The nearest would be an acrobat - but I guess that would involve cartwheels, handstands, back flips etc, so they went for the safest alternative

Jorgie and Matt skated to a slow number with one prop in simple costumes while everyone else had more than 1 prop, had up tempo music and special costumes. The throw they had to do so easily could have gone wrong. Everything about the routine gave the judges an excuse to criticise Jorgie and mark her down. I think they were expected to mess up the throw to give the judges another reason to mark her down and shake up the leader board. Notice she skated after Chemmy and Chico who had more technically difficult routines but easier props. They knew Jorgie would not be in the bottom 2 but it created drama on the night and shook up the leader board.
