I've got a Vox AD15VT which is great as a small practice amp for home use as it comes with a load of effects and pre-set sounds built in so you can easily get a wide variety of different sounds out of it.

Seems to generally get good reviews (e.g. http://www.zzounds.com/item--VOXAD15VT), costs about £100 so fairly cheap, but you'd probably want something better if you were going to be playing proper gigs etc.

I've got a Line 6 Spider III 30W, very good for metal and harder-rock if you're going to be playing any of that.

Ridiculously powerful for its size as well, I've played in a few small venues as part of a band and that little amp had enough power to overcome the drums with the Master Volume at just over half-way.

I use Orange amps, perfect for a tele.
