Hi, only had my Galaxy S2 a couple of weeks but already rooted it as I like tinkering!

Am I right that, because it is now rooted, I will be able to download ICS through Software Update once Samsung release it rather than have to wait for my mobile provider (Vodafone) to release it?

no you will no longer have access to Samsung updates through kies. you will be able to get the official update or 'stock' the same way you got your rooted rom.

there are already a number of ics versions for the sg2 if you don't want to wait for final version
