this and above post done in Starbucks. search wi fi networks. connect Starbucks. browser javascript on, sign in, then java back off & then up to 2 hours wi fi.

to sign out - not really needed - java on, connect to bt openzone, log out of starbucks.

switching off javascript not really necessary. default is on. but most webpages load faster if off. I use it just when needed. eg using my email account etc .....

oh, and you can also disable web images so you only download text data. which might be useful with a slow connection .........

..... amazon do like you to use wi fi occasionally and not 3g all the time. after a while they will probably send an email reminding u wi fi is how they send software updates. but they wont cut u off. however, continuing free 3g does depend on amazon being able to fund it.

And in most cases you are purchasing pirated copies of the books from eBay. I generally don't have a problem with pirating content if you wouldn't have made the purchase anyway as its useful to sample content before buying (although with free samples available on Amazon for the books this is less of a need, perhaps the only justifications is if you have already purchased the book in another format or it's simply not available in ebook format) but paying someone for pirated material is wrong. Just like people selling knock off DVD's it's wrong and people shouldn't support these people making a profit off others work while the people who put in the work get nothing

you should certainly purchase something from amazon. if only to support the kindle free 3g !

not necessarily book. theres also kindle apps. and all the other stuff amazon sells .......

calibre is not necessarily piracy. it converts both html and pdf to kindle format. pdf conversion is iffy -some things will be an unreadble mess - but certainly for text only pdfs converted mobi is easier to read on kindle
