Jen and Chico have threads on this topic already, and there are so many threads about whether the whole thing's rigged/not rigged for Jorgie to win that it's getting monotonous. So just wanted to start a thread for Matt

Anyway, I'd have said the answer is yes, provided he's given the routines that will allow him to outskate Jorgie in the final.

Honestly no he cant because Jorgie will win she has more fans but I really hope Matt wins and he has been my favourite from the beginning and he is also the best skater and performer out of the four that are left

He is a confident skater and can do fairly difficult steps but fo me hid transitions from one move to another are mot smooth. I feel he is doing the moves but I do not feel any emotion. More pairs skating than dancing. He gets on well with Nina but do not feel any connection with her on the ice.

Yes, if he skates brilliantly in the final and the lads' mags vote is split between Jorgie and Jen.

I think he can win, in fact, as much as I like Jorgie, I rather hope he does. But it will really get down to who can choreograph & perform bolero the best. Matt (Jorgie's pro partner) has probably had more experience with the bolero than Nina which could make all the difference.

Eventhough I would prefer Chico to win. Matt has given the most wow performances imo.

If it was just down to the skating then yes,he's by far and above the best. Unfortnately it's more of a popularity contest now, this is proved just by reading this board.

I think popularity is usually the deciding factor in DOI & SCD!

It's a nonsense to suggest that the great british public won't vote for the very best skater. If he continues to give wow routines like Sunday he must have a huge chance to win. I would almost say he is the favourite. if he had been in the bottom 2 that would say something. But he is hugely popular. Maybe not quite as popular as Georgie but close!

At the end of the day we don't know who is more popular out of Matt or Jorgie. All we know is that they have never been in the bottom 2 and that in the last 2 weeks each of them has had their vote tested & avoided the skate off so they must both be doing well & it's not a case of them being top of the leaderboard that's keeping them out of skate offs.

We know from previous years that the semis is when the public will vote for the better skaters so that almost certainly suggests a Chico v Jen skate off this week. I think it's probably too close to call between Matt & Jorgie & could come down to performances on the night.

But Sam topped the leaderboard in the SF and final, so the GBP did in the end vote for the best skater.

But we have to take into account the solo skills test, which Chico could do well and might possibly win. How they will work it into the over all score we will have to wait and see - but if he gets extra points he could end up top of the leaderboard, going straight through (at least that's what I'm hoping will happen )

I think the closest battle ever in the competition since series 1 is this year between Matt and Jorgie. I think Jorgie has more fans, but Matt is a little better. What I like about this is that it really is down to the final night to crown the winner, which is how a competition should be.

Come on Jorgie

Yes, come on Jorgie, she needs to skate out of her skin on Sunday.

Matt said on twitter that Torvill and Dean have choreographed 'a true masterpiece' that is his 'favorite routine to date.'

I really can't wait to see it...and hope she does pull off a jaw dropping performance.

Oh, wow, let's hope it is as good as he says. I can't wait now

I think Matt will win because more times than not the strong skater/good looking guy combo comes up trumps - primarily because the vast majority of the people who vote on these shows aren't straight men.

Also unless you have seen the voting figures how can some people on here claim that Jorgie definitely has more fans than Matt? He is on a soap watched by 6 times more viewers than hers - so I expect he has quite a lot of fans! She may have a lot of support amongst a certain section of viewers - but DOI's audience is a fair bit broader.

We shall see - but of course Matt can win. He is favourite to win in my view as he is getting the judges votes - and the public usually take their lead from them.

I think the only way people are saying that is twitter followers only. Jorgie has double Matt...but that's only twitter, and obviously not everyone has it

I don't think the number of Twitter followers is a particularly reliable gauge of popularity. Look how far Andy Whyment got & he isn't on Twitter.

I think some people think that Jorgie is more popular because she wins the polls on here but DS is also very unreliable - if the overall vote mirrored that of DS then Danniella & Laura would have won. Also look how popular Chico is on here but we know that hasn't translated into votes as he's already been in 2 skate offs

Very true.
Matt is currently in third place in the latest DS Forum favourite couple poll, exactly where Sam was too at this stage last year. Which means a Matt win is even more likely.

I wanted Chico to win but it's looking unlikely now as he's been in two skate offs.

I think Matthew should win. He's a fab skater, good dancer and I enjoy watching him.

Go Matthew.

Hayley was third too behind Kieron Richardson. Out of interest does anyone know who was the most popular in the earlier series - I only joined DS 2 years ago. I know I could go back & search but CBA at the moment, maybe one day when I'm bored/have more time.

Does Jorgie really have more fans than Matt? I truly wouldn't know as I had never seen or heard of either of them before DOI.
