Out of all of them, Gaga has my vote, followed not-so-closely by Beyonce. The reason being that Gaga works the hardest and is the best at what she does out of the people listed. She sings very well, she plays an instrument, produces, writes, composes, performs, dances, directs, sews, glues and sparkles. She has her fingers in every pie of the business that she is expected to be using in order to be responsible for what she does on stage and how she is percieved by her fans.

There are very few acts that tour the entire world at such a pace, there are even fewer who do it whilst taking a recording studio on the road with them... there are none who do it whilst being political activists and social icons trying to use their fame, money, and subsequent power to change the world for the better after their experiences as a child.

She very rarely slates others unless they're being particularly bad mannered, she stands up for what's right. She's educated and well spoken, which is another thing you don't see from people such as Britney Spears and Rihanna.

She gets slated for wearing risque clothes, but why shouldn't she? She has a great body - should she be ashamed of it? No. Does Michael Angelo's David cover up? Does the Venus De Milo? No. We all have nipples, some of us have vaginas - there's nothing wrong with it, and the fact that Gaga is completely unashamed of it is marvellous. She has a great body, but she didn't used to have before the extreme touring - she has a quite average body, but still didn't cover up. Know why? Because she has no illusions about the human body - and that sends the most positive message of all. She is unashamed of showing all of herself - because she's only got one selt, and so have we.”

I think you need a cold hard dose of reality for your Gaga dream I'm afraid...our beloved ''gaga'' has been created for you by Sony, its not your fault however..millions of sheeple across the world have bought into this ''Born This Way'' gimmick which was created for her an marketed by Sony who also paid for her extensive surgery.

As far as her writing, composing & producing her albums? dear lord I believe you have been led astray once again....take another look at her album details on wikipedia to see the vast array of arrangers, composers and lyricists Sony had at their disposal to help their number 1 marketed creation get over, once again its not your fault millions of others have bought into this nonsense also.

Great post, Rollercoaster. I'm not a fan of Lady G per se but I do have some respect for her as she has some modicum of talent and intelligence. She is also confident and self assured.

It's called marketing. Look it up. The music industry is a business. Gaga can write and compose songs entirely by herself and she has done for years. And that nose has clearly been enlarged, she has the exact same shape as her mother (nasally).

All her hits were written & produced for her, Akon who worked extensively with her on her first album has even said in an interview that he does not remember Gaga having any technical input in the creation of the album but did work on some of the lyrics. But the composition, arrangement and production she had little or no part in..you have to remember in 2008 nobody knew who she was until Sony set the marketing wheels in motion to get their gimmick over.

My project is on presentation of women in music by the media and then I am seeing if by their presentation they can be classed as role models, i'm not stating that these individuals in particularly are role models, i've just focused on them as they are the female stars with most media exposure so there's lots to write about.

Why are the same old over-exposed bints bought up, there are tonnes of females that can be classed as role models not just those.

-Describe each of them in 3 words

Britney - Great, Inspirational, Superstar
Beyonce - Lovely, Amazing, Catchy
Gaga - Annoying, Useless, Overrated
Rihanna - Used, To, Respecther

-And say which you most admire most, out of the 4

Britney - Because she never gave up and is the best one out of those 4

Beyonce...no talent??? I don't think so. She can sing and dance better than GaGa that's for sure. GaGa even said that Destiny's Child were an inspiration to her and made her want to be a singer.

The #teamlittlemix has invalidated their opinion. After seeing Glasto 2011, anyone who dares say Bey is untalented needs a slap!

Yes and i forgot Debbie as each of these women have total control and don't defer to men or show off flesh or be anything other than themselves to garner attention even if it can be extrovert and over the top.

Others that could have been had it not been for drugs etc.
Amy
Janis Joplin
Billie Holiday
Whitney
all great women but as with Rihanna not entirely something to adhere too.

For modern postars OP
Xtina is all i would say she really grabbed control of her career from day one as with Adele

Gaga - bold, driven, desperate
Britney - troubled, strong, brave
Rihanna - shallow, smart, fun
Beyonce - inspirational, classy, kind

I think there are aspects of all 4 of these women which make them good role models. Personally, I think Beyonce is the best role model out of the 4.

Lol exactly. People can say they don't like her music etc, but saying she has no talent is just stupid. They also listed Ke$ha as an inspiration....I hope that was a joke, if not then .

Rihanna - Scank, mendacious, carefree
Gaga - Eccentric, cantankerous, pangender
Beyonce - Passé, misandric, ostentatious
Britney Spears - Nonchalant, superfluous, puerile

(happy checking using this http://thesaurus.com/)

The quote below though is just rude and disrespectful.
