Watching sky and someting odd has happened
The picture on all channels has seemed to have expanded top and bottom...eg,when we put the guide onthe top and bottom of the picture has been cut off.
It happened when we were watching half way through a prog and no settings have been changed. |

I just phoned sky protect and described the problem and the chap said it was nothing wrong with the box it is a problem with the HDMI lead, so , a new lead is being posted.

First thing is to unplug the box from the mains, leave it five minutes, then plug it back in and try again - that will most probably;y cure it. |

Some tv's when controlled by the sky controller can actually have the aspect ratio changed by the 'play' button on the sky+/sky+hd remote. Try pressing tv, then the play button on the sky controller to see if your aspect ration changes. May not be that of course but something you could try. As Nigel has pointed out, it's highly unlikely to be the hdmi cable.

I control everything with a Harmony.
I phoned again and I am getting an engineer out on saturday. The picture is watchable, but...eg , when watching football I cant see the score at the top left or sky logo top right. And can't see the team news as it scrolls across the bottom. When watching through freeview all is fine. |

I have started a thread on the AV forum about my prob,
someone has suggested the zoom button may have been accidently pressed, because that is what it seem like to him...can't wait to get home and see if that is the case. I'll feel relieved and a twonk at the same time if that is the prob ![]()

Have you tried adjusting the aspect ratio on your tv to see if that cures it?
