Matt Baker & Aliona Vilani Appreciation Thread (Part 10)
Quote:
Have to admit I felt like shouting shut up at the screen - very nice lady but could talk the hind leg off the proverbial donkey.
I feel too that more serious subjects as was discussed tonight does interest him more. A good debate tonight with a very good political guest. However both he and AJ can now laugh at the randomness of the show which I feel helps it along. Looked wowsers tonight,,loved the whole ensemble, Wonder what delights we will have in store with the inimitable T&D???? Bolero last year complete with tights???? Abd this time...... ![]() ![]() CCM all |

So we've moved.
![]() Put kettle on mother! ![]() A nice new abode after several exciting months in the last one. The only downside is you have to search back In the previous thread for particular favourite pics (I'm not savvy enough to save them!) Thank you kk for the last batch which I will be so looking forward to catching up with. A sheer delight as usual.Cass, I'm like that when I have an early flight! That is, can't sleep. So what I usually do is to not go to bed, have a couple of hours shut-eye on the sofa, and then it's not so horrific waking up in the wee small hours to start the journey to the airport. Have the most fantastic time with your friends and I'm sure it'll be more classy than 'benid*rm' ![]() A good OS tonight but perhaps not a classic. A rather odd pairing of guests but we had half-an-hour of Matt looking very fine in his blue jumper so who are we to complain. And Torvill & Dean tomorrow, probably talking DOI stuff. OH's birthday tomorrow so my attendance on here may be sporadic (no change there then!) I think a celebratory lunch will be the highlight of the day. ![]() So CCM from the new homestead to all MBlovers out there, you can still find us, we're not going anywhere for the next few months. . Goodnight and sleep tight. xx

Morning all! Moved overnight so I guess it's time to redecorate
(Reminder - miner Matt Countryfile picspam on last page of last thread).Emma - you had a bunch of points in your last post so here's my answers ![]() Matt was filming Countryfile in Leicestershire last weekend. He was on a farm and was apparently lambing, doing stuff with tractors, and mixing wild bird seed. On the Daily Mail interview - it was new and not a repeat. There's a lot of stuff there that hadn't been mentioned before. So, for example, he'd mentioned anaemia but not what symptoms it was causing (lack of growth) that meant he had to give up gymnastics. That's an indicator his anaemia was pretty severe I'd say... Also, the stuff about how he behaved with subjects he liked / disliked was new (and he still avoided mentioning dyslexia even though that was somewhere it would have made sense). The bullying had been mentioned in the Live interview but not him fighting back. I'd just interpreted it from the way he replied and my understanding of Matt on other subjects - it just seemed obvious to me that he would have responded decisively if pushed ![]() And thanks for more pics from the Malvern Hills Countryfile. Matt was barely a month into his Countryfile career when they persuaded him to take the water cure involving freezing water, wet sheets, and tin baths Nowadays he sadly keeps his clothes on

Morning all - I hate these moves
Takes me ages to feel at home. Thank you kk for making it feel comfy already with all these picspams, but how annoying that you can no longer quote directly from the previous thread.Anyway, re the last CountryFile pics from Cornwall, this is a lovely one of Matt's jawline: http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...13at200705.png This one looks a bit like a Roy Lichenstein effort :http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...13at200836.png And I rather like this back image of him - nice pose: http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...13at203657.png Kk, I know Cornwall pretty well - spent a lot of time there when I lived in the UK. It's where my father's family originated and is the only county in the UK where my surname is fairly common . A lot of people think it's not an British name at all but it's actually one of the oldest - it's just not anglo-saxon.I've visited some of the old tin mines so the subject certainly isn't boring to me at all. I found it fascinating to stand there and think about how life must have been when they were all active, and imagine the men going down them with their pasties containing a complete meal - not to emerge until the end of the day. That was before the search for earth metals began but I have read about this. Who knows if it will ever lead to anything substantial, but I certainly wish them luck. |

Hi Emma,
I can't quote from your last post either, but thank you for the pics. I've seen most of these before, or at least similar, but your pics are always very clear, sometimes a bit different, and always welcome. Hope you've found your way to the new thread okay

Good afternoon ladies
Thank you KK for the pictures, still going through part 9. I called the insurance people about my travel woes and have just got the claim form in today. If we get some of the costs of additional airfare back I will be happy! Matt looked lovely last night, not sure about AJ with the glitter collar! I really I loved that bubbly welsh lady on TOS last night, I wasn't going to watch "the syndicate" I am now! I missed her name at the beginning. Back to washing and ironing whilst watching a TOS and CF See you later! |

Back to washing and ironing whilst watching a TOS and CF See you later! Thanks a million again KK for the divine pics you've posted so far in our new home including my favourite waistcoat phawtaw. I always have that one close at hand.![]() And I've scanned the Cornish Tin Mine pics....again, how does someone look so fantastic in orange boilersuit and hard hat. Very very nice.Dancing-girl - all the very best with your insurance claim, the company will duck and dive to avoid paying out, but stick to your guns and you may get something out of it. You'll certainly enliven future dinner parties with your tale of woe..... I expect you thought it can't get any worse than this! ![]() As it's only a year since T&D were on the OS, not sure what new material they are going to bring to the table except more chat about DOI although I think I saw a new ice show advertised with them in it? And as for tonight, as the Bolero start has already been 'danced' by the FBB, where else can he go with it? We wouldn't mind an encore.Glad to hear you got the water re-flowing Rita! And of course I meant to say last night we were facing a hosepipe bans not water bans, that my dear would indeed have been a di-sas-ter....... I try to engage brain but often it's vacant..... |

Still going through old TT episodes to see if any can be rejected and just watched the one with Matt Smith. At the end Matt Baker says it's just too good to be true, Frankie Vallee (spelling?) will be on tomorrow. And it was - too good to be true - as he never turned up I remember!
I won't be watching live tonight as have people coming over to eat. It's lovely and warm here so am just doing burritos and tacos - simple, and I've already made desert. Looks very much like Wednesday visitors is turning into a routine though. |

I can’t be wrong with the Matt’s photo I saw and pieces of news about his dad was former boxer I read. Never mind, I don’t think I am losing my short term memory but my eyes can’t always be trustworthy. ![]() I didn’t know about M's dyslexia and live interview. I did notice that there were some books about dyslexia on the bookshelf while ITT visited his home in 2010. Re – Matt’s decisive responses, we all witnessed to this on the SCD 2010 live, haven’t we? ![]() Quote:
This seemed the easy way to redecorate (I've got up to September to go)
The month of the Strictly Tour, Matt being confirmed as new One Show host, and the delightfully weird game of "Bat & Trap" on Countryfile http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...er_3155160.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...rpool-tour.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...enn3166975.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/.../226673102.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/..._1662653_n.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/..._2722823_n.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/..._7295046_n.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/..._2526432_n.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/..._BAKER-1-7.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...05at153039.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...05at153122.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...05at153155.png Love these Matt’s live tour photos http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/.../226673102.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...rpool-tour.jpg http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/..._BAKER-1-7.jpg But sad to see this http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/..._1662653_n.jpg And thanks again for putting the Best of 2011 together. I know I overuse that word but I just can't think of a more suitable one. Very lively, very tiggerish, and alarmingly interested in the skating, and in particular the dangerous parts. No, Matt. No. Just NO. Please. My nerves really couldn't take it. As it is I don't watch DOI for fear of seeing an accident. And that's when I don't especially care about the participants. Nicola, if you're listening, don't let him! You could see the glint in his eye, the "I could do that" expression, the longing to get out and participate again. Somebody strap him down, please! |
