Good afternoon, a quick visit before setting off to see my mum!

Thank you for the pics Emma! One of the things I loved about Matt during SCD was his ability to get into character for each dance, then dance with all his heart and soul, and at the end of each dance he would come out of character and he would smile the most brilliant and perfect smile as he realised he had 'nailed' it! Absolutely fascinating transformation. And then of course came the spontaneous loud applause and cheering and standing ovation which he and Aliona so richly deserved!

Have managed to catch some of yesterday's CF with Matt and the lambs (his girls!) but didn't see all of it as I went out to lunch. Looking forward to catching up on some more Mattiness tonight, when on earth will I have the time to look at the Sports Relief Mile?

Off to do some ironing first before bodding out, and will meet my fellow MB peeps at the usual place at 6.58! No idea who the guest is but I rarely notice them anyway.

Hello everyone

Last night CF was packed with the cuties, was it? The little lambs, the school kids, baby baboon, little Z and of course the Baker Boy. It was lovely episode to begin with the scene of 2 cute little lambs tucked under Matt’s arms and little Zephyr being cuddled by the Baker boy at the end of the show. And that Adam’s highland cattle really needed a haircut, poor Eric was separated from his lovely lady cattle. I thought FBB needed a crush training session of how-to-handle-slippery customers before filming. This time, there were a couple of moments that cameraman fond of Matt’s close-ups. His face was make-up and the tans fee, looking very natural and charming indeed.

SR Mile show was great. Matt and Alex handled it well very lively and naturally but I really wished to see a glimpse of the bouncy Bakery boy on a spacehoper again. Shamed they didn’t show it again. When I watched Dancing on Ice final part after Countryfile, I found a huge different between Alex and Christine. Anyway why Dancing on Ice never goes to extra mile like GBT and SCD on SR and CiN? I want to see FBB pasodoble-ing, jiving, waltzing on ice. He will be up for the challenge and undoubtedly marvellous. I think he is interested in ice-skating.


I think everyone does, even thesaurus can’t provide unlimited words and phrases to avoid people from repetition. Is there anyone out there who does not repeat any words in daily life? Can people in this world live their life without repeating the same words?

Yes, I found Matt interview with that elderly gentleman very touching.

Yes, those are some of great memories of SCD Series 8 went to Blackpool ballroom tower but you know Rita, the real highlight of that night for me was Aliona’s response to Len. She was funny, witty and didn’t take anything serious. That was all down to Matt’s understanding and encouraging her not to be afraid to be herself. He let her to respond to the judges without being impolite and disrespectful. Unless she was partnered with Matt we won’t see the spicy, funny, witty side of Aliona. Last year that spicy and fiery side of Aliona has gone missing and I doubt that will I see it again??


Those are his natural abilities, aren’t they? He won’t do anything he can’t put his heart and soul.

They did have a great rapport didn't they? The partnership made in heaven. The audience response to the Samba was so awesomely positive (remember Bruce thought they would go overtime) it made Len's disparaging remarks all the more stupid.Wonderfful stuff and then of course we had the Tangaw. Happy days - big sigh

SG -Are you still chasing your tail this week I havent caught up with it all yet but CF last night had a cuteness factor of 10.

Not at all surprised that CF was low - everyone was doing SR stuff,watching DOI or having a day on the beach - in fact I thought it may have been lower

I agree with you on that Emma. Matt had the talent, but also the guts to take things as far he could with Aliona and match her ambition to do things that were original. Last year she was most definitely subdued. But she won! Who knows if she'll ever get a partner like Matt again. Some think she's due a dud this year anyway but I'm not so sure things work that way. We'll see - or in my case won't see as I don't watch it any more since 2010.

Just checked last year around the same time. Countryfile is down a million on it's viewing figures last year, Dancing on Ice down nearer a million and a half The weather is a big factor as the equivalent week last year was a bit cooler and so not BBQ weather.

It deserved a lot more viewers but I think a 7pm start on a sunny evening for a show popular with outdoors types is a bit tricky...

It's summer time so the OS has now turned to orange. Matt looked slightly orange and Alex was pretty much orange tonight. Loved Jamie's balloon week VT. I always found all his VTs interesting.


I agree Cass, Matt looked really handsome and adorable in that shirt tonight. The guest wasn't boring either, He was rather humours than he appeared.

Matt looked lovely tonight,but the razor made an unwelcome return,stubble will be back in a few days quite bouncy with some lovely laughing, great to see the 1000 miler on the show.
Not sure about the guest tho,wasn't the greatest, he was hard going, didn't seem very interested in being there, guess he not that bothered about a film he did 15 years ago being re-released,even if it is in 3D,he did do a sr mile, so he wasn't all bad.
didn't watch the film the first time round and i'm still not going to watch it.

Havent followed viewing figures for DOI this year but am surprised it was down so much since last year particularly as the standard was so much better than last year.

Loved the baby faced MB tonight, but probably in the minority as regards to the guest. Found him boring and dull. Think he has a rather dry sardonic sense of humour but was not my cup of tea at all. Institute of sorry and all that

Actually the reason they put Matt’s triple backflips in their routine was they knew audience and the viewers would love it. Funny that Len said to the rest of judges ‘they knew I don’t like it. They put it in their routine was just to annoy me’ Even funnier when Craig replied ‘I’d put 17 backflips just to annoy you.’


If she couldn’t manage to win she would be in a big trouble. She would be roasted with those nasty bashings. She has been incredibly lucky so some people might think she could not be that lucky again but who knows.

Agree, re- Matt’s talents and the guts. If he didn’t have the guts he wouldn’t have been offered the job to present Blue Peter, won't it?. If I were him I might not dare to convince them to take me into their consideration.

Me too Cass. Thought he was lovely and very interesting - the guest that is. Matt too of course but that goes without saying. Or shall I say so? Loved the shirt which fitted very well, but not so keen on the clean-shaven look. Who gave him his razor back! He kept making me laugh though. Was nice and bouncy. Loved the way he and Alex took the mickey out of their own show. The pair of them must despair at some of the things they have to look enthusiastic about.

Anyway, did they say Helen Mirren tomorrow? Now she is someone I really don't much like any more. Used to think she was great but now think she's let all the accolades go to her head. Still, let's see how she is.

Managed to see the rest of the Matt bits of CF......lovely ending to the programme. Wasn't julia's little son so sweet, and Matt is such a great person around children. It certainly had the 'Awwww' factor.

And the OS tonight was rather good. The guest was a bit inanimate but maybe that's just his character. Matt was looking clean-shaven for once. Think the consensus is that the light stubble look is the way to go. So someone hide the razor please.

Yes lotus, still running round like the proverbial scalded cat. No peace for me this week again. But trying not to moan!

I really like his top, it is quite trendy and think he wore it when Anita was on (if I remember correctly) but the problem is either it was a bit too tight for him or the gap of the buttonholes needed to be a bit narrower. I said this before and Bee didn't seem to agree with me. Anyway they are great screenshots overall, thank you KK.

Good afternoon, quiet on here today, expect work and/or sunshine are occupying most people.

It'll be interesting to see Hel*n Mir*en on the OS tonight - a Southend girl dun good.....! She was at senior school in Westcliff-on-Sea, a different one to me but same era! Think she's aged a lot better than me.

Better get sewing machine out as need to do some alterations for my daughter and me...people just don't sew or know how to alter garments nowadays...! It's easier to just go out and buy something else!

Anyway have managed to catch up with some of the SR Mile and Matt looked really handsome and athletic, so tiggery and happy, he has such a lovely way with people and puts them at their ease. It's a gift!

So I'll say adieu and hopefully will see most of OS...minute-taking duties call tonight, will have to try and concentrate on my shorthand squiggles......
