this is highly frustrating......both Hadrians Wall and Alnwick are fairly near me but I'm on my own with the sprogs and its a long way to push a buggy....bummer
![]() shame really cos imagine Matts face when he watches the filming back and spots in the background a big bear in a slightly incriminating T shirt pushing 2 little ones in a buggy ![]() ![]() the possibilities for embarrassing him are endless ...just as well we're classy isn't it ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() *wipes away tears* oh that would be fabulously funny! But yes, we are classy, sensible ladies who wouldn't dream of doing any such thing

Actually Bee, he's not at Alnwick today (as per undercover reporter KK) and there's a food & beer festival there tomorrow....
sooooo if you were a betting Bee, and you can find someone to shepherd you around, perhaps you could try out your bear suit

(it's a fortified long house - think "baby castle")Not sure I'd describe that area as Hadrian's Wall but maybe Matt is taking a long walk! So yes, if he is filming at Alnwick too it might be tomorrow when there's a food & beer festival in the town. Sounds like a handy excuse to visit if you're nearby with a dodgy t-shirt you want to show off

In this week's Countryfile Matt is taking a steam train journey from Fort William over the Glenfinnan viaduct: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01n3dq3
And here's a larger version of the picture of him climbing a lochaber pine: http://twitpic.com/awxfis |

Needing matchsticks in eyes at moment so won't tarry too long...
Evening to all....fell asleep during OS tonight. Would have liked to have seen more of David W being interviewed...although some of his TV work hasn't always appealed to me, he is always a good sport (and sportsman, i.e. his swimming of course) and enters into the spirit of things. ![]() Yes, Lotus, little MB snippets have indeed cheered me up...had the most exhausting week but it's lovely that KK managed to come up with the goods Will miss OMAHD tomorrow late evening catch-up viewing methinks. Mind you, there's such a lot of Mattage on the telly that we can't keep up with it all. This has been a bumper bundle year....and who are we to complain Loved the thought of bearsuited Bee turning up in Alnwick with classy T-shirt and a pramful of babies..... Sure there'll be an opportunity at some point for little people to meet El President....they'll have to see for themselves the reason for that funny thudding noise in the Bee household..... Think I'm going to go for a review of yesterday's OS in a minute, Matt looked so handsome and yummy So I will CCM, wish everyone restful sleeps followed by a great weekend......night night  xx

Morning all – I’ve been looking Matt’s railway journey on CF on the Internet and I found the eight-gated lock Neptune’s Staircase and the Glenfinnan viaduct look stunning. I've never been there but I’ve heard that Ben Nevis is the highest peak in the UK as ‘I’ve seen Matt climbing snow-cap Fort William on Countryfile’s Favourite Places 2010. Some screenshots here: Matt climbing Fort William with his instructor http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/...ps06c3856e.jpg http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/...psa338bf86.jpg http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/...psee82bd46.jpg This is a map where CF visited at that time http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/...ps79b4b8a6.jpg Quote:

Emma, why would you assume that tomorrow's show will start and end with Julia? Or that his time is cut short? He's listed as main presenter on the show (the intro says "In Lochaber, Matt Baker goes on the greatest railway journey in the world.") and the order of events on the BBC web page isn't necessarily how things are ordered in the programme.
Given he's on a train journey, visiting a lock, and climbing a tree I'd say that sounds like a normal day's work for him without needing to spend too much time travelling between locations. I'd expect it to be the normal 12-13 minutes of time on the show ![]() Rita - thanks for saving these episodes. I got home around 2pm and have managed to download everything in HD. Last One Show on its way now ![]() But my inclination is that CF might start with Julia if her segment comes first. An obvious example for you is the Oxfordshire episode started on telly with Helen and then followed by Matt. If you watched it on iplayer (not on telly) you would have then seen Matt reminding the viewers about how to vote for the photographic competition just a few seconds before the program started. Although the website said what Matt and Helen would do……yes his name first, but on telly it was Helen did the opening bit. On some occasions Julia or Ellie did it as we have seen. And Matt is not on next week CF so it gives me the impression of Julia might say what she and John will do next week at the end of the show. Would they round up the show together or would Matt do the end bit saying where Julia and John will be next week, I have no idea. Re – the length of Matt’s segment(s) I was just saying what I want to see from Sunday CF. His all railway journeys on CF and Secret Britain were great so I expect nothing less, a proper length of Matt Baker segment on Sunday Countryfile. Quote:
Thanks for the pics Emma - lovely. Last one looks like a fairly familiar situation to me too! We can watch CBeebies even if we don't have little ones any more, can't we? I will anyway.

Lovely jeans - kk let me know if you need this. I'll keep it till I hear from you. Have everything else from the past week too.Yes Rita, we can if we want to watch it, just 10 minutes before the OS goes on air. Perfect timing! ![]() I missed first part of OMAHD cos I forgot to check the schedule. Iplayer has to be my blessing in disguise now. He looks lovely in the commentary box; his jacket was on so it must have been a bit chilly out there. Do you know that the second part of Adam segment in Switzerland will be aired tomorrow? |

Back from holiday and onto The One Show from the 4th of September with guest Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. We have themed VTs about the British coast - an ambergris discovery in Dorset (Marty Jopson), sea lochs (John Sergeant), puffin colony in Wales (Mike Dilger), and Pacific oysters invasion (Janet Street Porter)
Matt is wearing a pale denim shirt and black trousers http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps90a6d71f.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps813694db.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...psa3a67a95.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps28a91caf.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9e6fab08.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps02dd3cf4.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8b87c3fa.png Quote:
Now talking about Hugh's book (3 good things on a plate) and eating the produce (Spiller Baker strikes again as he throws the food on the floor
)http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps56eab1eb.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps078fcad8.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps28a91caf.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps01d6f817.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps69003557.png And he says, 'sorry.' She seems to play his big sister role…wash your hands; brush your teeth, etc….but she still needs to say, ‘eat your food Matthew as if no one is watching you’ while over 4m pairs of eyes are on him. ![]() ![]() Does anyone get the impression of he did enjoy the oyster at the end of the show? Was it he pretended to show the enthusiasm of a host? As to come with food and him, I sometimes tend to think he didn’t always enjoy the food but he pretended as if he did. I reckon there are some he really love and some he doesn’t that much. I am a very fussy eater so I can’t even pretend but he may not be as fussy as I am. |

Evening all
Firstly Emma. Glennfinnian is beautiful. I have done the railway trip several times and there is a lovely monument to Bonnie Prince Charlie.Have been to Lochaber as well so am looking forward to a few memories being invoked. CF has the potential to be very very thudworthy. Well those naughty nighty sheep giving the shepherds and dogs the runaround (as well as the prsenters). Bet they were glad to be snuggled in their field communicattion "tent". What a difference a day makes all warmth and sunshine for day 1 and then the deluge for day 2. Being a numpty I was expecting SCD tonight but am 2 weeks early ![]()

And good evening from me, although it's nearly Good Morning!
Busy busy morning with grandchildren and the family shopping, then visiting dear friend in afternoon and evening. Just had a long session with OMAHD Lovely Matt, lovely Gus, lovely sheepdogs and their handlers, but less than lovely sheep with serious attitude They need a good talking to about their lack of manners.....Lovely picspam KK....thank you for your diligence in getting these pics to us so quickly after the return from your holiday (which sounded lovely!) As usual, they'll be my bedtime treat ![]() So looking forward to tomorrow's CF. Unlike you, Lotus, I have never been to that part of Scotland (only visited Balfron-by-Glasgow and Nethybridge/Boat of Garten) so you will be able to recognise where Matt is and relive your experience there. I will CCM now....still got a few jobs to finish, like my hair ![]() Night night, good and restful sleeps to peeps....... xx |

I don’t know how that happened. He didn’t actually look at the camera or talking to Huge. Alex says, ‘Matt, you need a bib.’ And he says, 'sorry.' She seems to play his big sister role…wash your hands; brush your teeth, etc….but she still needs to say, ‘eat your food Matthew as if no one is watching you’ while over 4m pairs of eyes are on him. |

Afternoon all
![]() A grotty day today, grey and dull, raining at the mo and i'm going down with a cold, sore throat, runny nose been knocking back the lemsip, hopefully it wont last to long. Spiller baker returns, he couldn't wait to tuck into the plates of food.Matt looking good, with a nice bit of stubble on the way ![]() Great pics kk. ![]() http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps90a6d71f.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps65f67e68.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps911ce96c.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps28a91caf.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7c5efaa2.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps90fd97be.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps4cf6733c.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps8b87c3fa.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...pse59f1448.png I thought he wanted to have one as he nudged huge to give him a oyster, he seemed to enjoyed eating it, but after cf and matt and Julia’s 'chat' on the walkies talkies and her saying i didn't get you one as i know your not to keen on them, i'm not sure now, weather that was the excuse they used to avoid them meeting up and not being together at the end of the show as they didn't film the end of cf together who knows. The look on alex face when they finished the vt about oyster suggested she wasn't going to be trying one. i wouldn't eat anything i didn't like and pretend that i did like it, nothing could persuade me to try a oyster or some other seafood . I'm sure he could pretend to like it even if he didn't. However, I think he does like oysters. He's always been fine eating them on Countryfile - it's Ellie who really disliked them - Matt has even cooked them before now. On The One Show he could easily have avoided eating them but chose to ask for one. I think the comment by Julia on Countryfile was part of the script to cover up that they weren't even filming on the same day... |

Hello. Just finished watching yesterday's OMAHD, and I swear Matt is getting more and more gorgeous by the minute!
Definitely sheep with attitude. I wonder if knowing it's live TV makes the shepherds more nervous? I certainly thought Alf, once his initial move went wrong, seemed nervous and even slightly agressive at times. The sheep I suppose, like all animals, will pick up his mood. And the Irishman just seemed to have lost communication with the dog at certain times. All the humans' fault I think - not the sheep or the dogs ![]() One thing I miss from last year's shows was the little graphic explaining the course before the first contestant started. I found that helpful. And can anybody tell me the significance of the red scarves? Or was that explained and I missed it. Lovely programme anyway. I always enjoy it even though I know very little about the skills involved. Beautiful dogs - especially Mo. |

Matt's eaten a lot worse thing than oysters during his tv career - rancid shark, squirrel, poisonous plants
. I'm sure he could pretend to like it even if he didn't. However, I think he does like oysters. On the great oyster debate though I don't suppose we'll ever know for sure if he really, really likes them or not. He's far too good at his job to show any dislike on TV when it would spoil things for him to look squeamish, and I have a friend who is so polite she always asks for second helpings of things she doesn't like, just to show her appreciation for being invited. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Matt did that. In my own case, I'd like to accept an oyster if I were offered one just to be polite, but it would backfire because I would gag - I just know I would. So better to say no - to anything jellylike (other than dessert jelly), and anything live! |

Matt is wearing a pale denim shirt and black trousers ![]() This is a beautiful, classic pose http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps90a6d71f.png Always love a quizzical look and these 3 are perfect examples http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps813694db.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps911ce96c.png http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps14bf9704.png Nice pic of right profile. Wonder who ironed his shirts? I've stopped buying stuff with those kind of pockets because I simply cannot get it right. Looks like whoever did the ironing here has the same problem ![]() http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9e6fab08.png Thanks kk, and welcome home. PS. Got in a bit of a mess with my pics there, but think I've sorted it out now. |
