And also, just pimping my own work here - this is a link to a piece of iPad art I did: http://kittenkong.posterous.com/h0lmfirth-sketch

It's done using an app called ArtRage (and a stylus to make drawing easier). I used one of my Holmfirth pics as a tracing layer and sketched the details with a pencil tool. I then layered it with a watercolour wash and some broader marker pen colours. I quite like the effect ”

Only just looked at these. Kk, your sketch is fantastic. Wish I could do computer art. It's like writing for me. I have a theory that because my brain first learned to write with a direct link between it and my hand, it doesn't really work with the intermediary of a keyboard. When I write something on a computer it only really starts to come together when I print a copy and start scribbling on it. In the same way I can draw (sort of) with a pencil but not on a computer.

Anyway, back to the picspam. As jumper/shirt combinations go this one's not too bad I suppose, and at least we have compensatory stubble. I like these.

And this close-us is slightly different and rather nice I think.

Afternoon all.

Nice sunny day here, not as warm as the last few days, still nice having the sun out to play.

Topped up on petrol before going food shopping, it's a good job that i did, coz most of the pumps had been coned off when we had finished and people were still queuing to get some, as i was waiting to pay, the cashier was telling someone else in the queue that someone had filled up by putting £100.00 in there car then tried to fill up some cans, people are going daft about filling up

Lotus and cass ouch, fancy both of you being stung by bees, not nice places to be stung. hope they feel better soon

Lovely pics here kk. Far too many to choose favourites. However, I will:

Like this close-up:
http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...29at193738.png

And this one for more reasons than one:
http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...29at195015.png

Surprised me to find I can pick Matt out instantly, even at this distance, because I recognize his stride. They say people's walks are as individual as fingerprints and can be used to recognize people in CCT footage, don't they. Seems that also applies to a still shot.
http://i1098.photobucket.com/albums/...29at064413.png

This is an episode of CountryFile I'm keeping - at least until I can figure out how to edit it for the bits I like.

After seeing the Just a Minute team on TT the other day I decided to give it a go. Recorded a few and have just watched. Absolutely hilarious. And I've been missing out on this all these years. I hope they keep it as a regular TV show, it's so much better than some of the stuff that passes as quiz shows.

Just popping in to say goodnight...

Lovely pic of Matt with his children....the Awww Factor is going to be extremely high on Sunday night's cf

Surprised myself by managing to make some space in the bedrooms by throwing a few bits away and deciding that some items can go to oxfam....it's a work in progress.....
And I finished altering some jeans so it's been a productive day.

A quiet Mattless day today enlivened by the phawtaw of Matt filming today, lovely to see him in his cycling gear again.

I am unlikely to be visiting here much over the next couple of days, will be trying to keep grandchildren amused. and trying to get them to sleep
I hope I will be sitting comfortably though for Sunday's cf (if I can keep awake).

Sounds as if lots of you are doing exciting things over the next few days, have a wonderful time all of you.

Hope the bee-stung ladies (not lips!) are feeling less sore tonight, that's not a nice thing to happen, especially in those regions. The only insect I've encountered today is my big spider which has been lurking upstairs for the last few days, think it's time I attempt to catch it.

Well better CCM and get a final look at the stripey shirt before the chaos starts tomorrow. Goodnight peeps. xx

Morning all

Looks like B*****E posts may be a little thin on the ground this weekend.myself included. Youngest sons Bday today. Off for a walk this pm along the cliffe tops and then an Indian meal tonight. SG - I havent seen the piccie for this weeks CF fliming - i seem to be having a bit of trouble getting onto their website. If you have a spare few seconds please post me the link.

My bee sting is a nice blue/black/yellow colour. Goes with my outfit!!! Still a tad tender. Have a lovely time with the grandkids - you always seem to!

Cass - hope the traffic isn't too bad but driving into Bristol on a Saturday is no joke. Will be thinking of you tomorrow and enjoy the company of your lovely family.

As usual the pic spams are par excellence but never expect anything else these days and the bellringer Matt was totally thudworthy.

hi everyone, a very quick hellaw to all bodding ladies today. As predicted weather's gone a bit pear-shaped

Lotus, this is the link that Cass posted - all go ahhhhh! . Btw, hope you have a lovely Indian meal for your son's birthday!

Just preparing myself mentally and physically for the onslaught! Grandkids been removed by mum only to be returned later on it's going to be a long evening and an even longer night! We will all get through it.

Must catch up on a couple of chores - not likely to be able to post again for some while....but will have a little mb daydream if I have time.... Bye for now....

Someone on the ratings thread has just linked to the Broadcast Report for top 100 TV programmes for the week ending 25th March. All of The One Shows and Countryfile are of course in there . Sports Relief Mile isn't but I'm not too surprised by that as I expect people were actually out and about (including running it!) on such a lovely day (means it got less than 2.4m viewers)

Countryfile from Leicestershire on 25th March was low for it at 4.77m viewers and 21.42% audience share. It ranked 31/100 overall, and only 14th for the BBC. Usually it makes the top 10. It was against the Dancing on Ice final and a network premiere of Avatar so I think that hurt it.

The One Show had a pretty good week:

Mon 19/03 (Holly Willoughby) - 45/100 overall, 25th BBC1: 4.36m (20.11%)
Tue 20/03 (Englebert Humperdinck) 39/100 overall, joint 20th BBC1 : 4.52m (21.44%)
Wed 21/03 (Just a Minute team) 38/100, overall, 19th BBC1: 4.55m (22.04%)
Thu 22/03 (Tom Jones and Danny from The Script) 46/100 overall, 26th BBC1: 4.27m (21.01%)

Thanks for the research kk. Good figures indeed for TT. I'm not too surprised about Sport Relief Mile. Not only the good weather, but the time of broadcast and following as it does so soon on the heels of the Comic Relief shows. People must be feeling enough is enough. I don't think I would have bothered if it wasn't for Matt. Pity they can't separate these two campaigns out a bit more, or go back to the once every two years for SR they used to have.

I'm expecting all figures to go down from now on as we move into warm weather and holiday season.

Evening all

What a difference a day makes, yesterday nice sunny and warm , today grey, cloudy and cold

Lotus hope the cliff top walk wasn't too cold, have a good meal out, with a glass or two of wine, happy b'day to no 3 son.
Star are you having fun with the gchildren, hope you've been able to put your feet up for a little while during the day

surprisingly I find myself on here after all! Plans changed and we went to daughter's for the evening stint instead of grandchildren coming here. So all's well that ends well! I'll will get some sleep after all!

Just got back and it's sooo cold outside. more of the same tomorrow I fear. But we've got some lovely cf to look forward to, to keep us warm.
Have got a lot of the family round tomorrow afternoon and then it's time for Mr b and the mini B's with the lambs. The cuteness factor will go off the scale. .

Anyway a few things to do, now I have this unexpected freedom hope all MBlovers out there are having good sleeps. CCM. xx
