It is an easier grand final comparing to series 8 and 9 but I am pleased with the results tonight. Louis and Flavia deserved winning because (a) their dance can be considered as their own from the beginning to the end; I mean neither partially copied nor partially rework of other strictly pros’ routines with slight adjustments); (b) Louis is a technical dancer; (c) he doesn’t come from the entertainment industry. Denise and Kimberley, they deserved to be the finalists but in Denise’s Charleston, Mattiona’s shoulders lift was being copied exactly (Matt danced perfectly well whist Aliona was on his shoulders) and the end sequence was also a rework of Mattiona’s roll-up movement with a slight adjustment. Music was pretty slow so she could execute well. Kimberley’s Tango opening sequence was a rework of Mattiona’s foxtrot opening and the end sequence was Mattiona’s Tango end sequence…just made slight adjustments. So pro’s choreography-wise Flavia came with her own ideas whilst other pros took some of Aliona’s. She deserves credits for her creative ideas, I mean in 2010 with Matt. Their Charleston was created by both of them, was very fast and complicated, it a celeb can perform perfectly like their routine with high entertainment value in week 4 I’d call him/her a king/queen of Charleston!

I am so pleased for Louis and Flavia especially for Flavia! Worthy winners! I can imagine the FBB's wolfwhistling when the winners were announced!

Wow, Cass, you are such a lucky lady A brilliant Final, fantastic dances.....so much better than last year. And worthy winners in Louis and Flavia, they couldn't believe it! A thoroughly wonderful evening which makes up everso slightly for the injustices of 2010!

Well having had friends round for the day (copious amounts of food and wine consumed ) and then the excitement of T*ss's peculiar dresses, it's really time I hit the sack. Another busy day tomorrow but so looking forward to the CF Christmas Special, our penultimate sight of El Presidente in 2012

What a great final to scd this year. So happy and pleased for louis and flavia winning strictly they deserved it
Louis showdance was wonderful, loved it, brilliantly danced must say i did have a thud when he came out only in his leggings. The salsa was great a huge improvement from the first time they did it and Charleston was great with the extra added summersault at the end. Fabulous 3 dances

They all danced very well, think the nerves got the better of dani alittle
Didn't like denise showdance and dani was ok, but probably been better without a couple of the lifts and the really mangled bo rap song. Kim's was good and enjoyable to watch. Did they say who come 2nd and 3rd, unless i missed it cheering with louis winning.

Cass what a wondeful evening you had there.

Cass - what a joy to see last night and that dance was for me the best dance ever - technically. Flavia played to LS strenghts and the outfit was perfect for the routine. Still think LS looked a little bemused by it all but agree with SG - miles better than last year and we had no silly VTs in the final either - dancing is what it was about. 2010 is beginning to fade a litttle now- well the BLs at least. Wonder if the final curtain will now fall for BF

Well I will have to record CF tonight - alas visitors yet again and I have to work tomorrow so will be post Xmas before I can see it.

Afternoon all - are we all looking forward to watching the Countryfile Christmas special which is of course airing on Matt's 35th birthday . I hope he's having a great day with family - maybe Pebble has baked him a cake

And just a reminder - if you're in Scotland Countryfile is on BBC2 at 5:30 - not BBC1. If you can get BBC1 HD then you can still catch it there (and Matt looks so much better in high-def so it's always recommended )

OMG! I couldn’t believe my eyes! Matt wearing black shirt and nicely fitted trousers on Countryfile Christmas Special 2012, looking HOT, HOT, HOT! What a lovely treat tonight! I saw him wearing black shirt and black trousers at NFYFC AGM when he was elected as the president for the first time in 2011. Since then, I haven’t seen him in black shirt. Now he took it out from his wardrobe for tonight show.

A lovely xmas cf, alot of matt tonight, helps that they didn't need to go anywhere else. matt had fun at Ragley hall, got to do some sheep herding and cooking in the kitchen, i bet he did alot of tasting of all the food just to make sure it was cooked
We got treated to a wonderful bit of matt singing at the end. Looked great in his serving outfit

No more matt until friday, but i do have a few picspams and nuts to catch on, so wont be totally mattless

Yes, thank you for the phawtaws Emma....what a delightful Christmassy CF that was. A lot of Mattage which is always welcome, lots of giggling and banter between Julia and Matt, and how lovely that he burst into song again at the end of the programme.....we can't seem to stop him now, not that we're complaining He has such a beautiful singing voice after all. And I liked the fact that it was Matt who said the 'Happy Christmas and Byebye' bit....as he did last year.

So,with trembling lips and everything, we say goodbye to CF for another year. Loads of fabulous moments this year, e.g. barge-sprawling, but in general sadly lacking in the T-shirt or Henley top department Let's hope 2013 will indeed have a 'barbeque summer' weather-wise,,,,however it's the kiss of death if forecasters predict such a summer! But just a little hotness would go a long way.

Better get a bit of shut-eye in now as off to the shops later (yes, I know) as I have many relatives to cater for tomorrow. Am pretty shattered already so goodness knows what shape I'll be in on Christmas Eve. I'm thudded.....but not in a good way

So CCM to all lovely peeps....am unlikely to be around much in the next few days but will lurk when I can!

Have a Happy Christmas all readers and posters and we look forward to 2013 when Mr Baker will go from strength to strength and we can only say 'Vive El Presidente'

Just had a look at the official ratings (http://www.barb.co.uk/viewing/weekly-top-30?_s=4) for the 10th to 16th of December and all 4 Matt hosted episodes of The One Show made the BBC top 30 . That's the first time I've seen the one hour show make it into the top 30 and it means they are now managing to get a bigger audience over the hour than Friday can manage in 30 minutes - it's a great result for them . Also, that lowest result for The One Show would still be in the top 15 shows with that rating if it aired on itv!

And of course Countryfile is still doing well
