It's really very humid tonight so we won't mind going back to normal temperatures by the end of the week.

I enjoyed Ted D's appearance on the OS tonight and it was great to see AJ and MB break out of the confines of the studio. It made the show seem fresher, although the usual dottiness shone through. And I sort of missed the end Cass....but was able to watch but not hear.

Btw, POCs to you Cass on your return to work tomorrow - hope not too arduous on your first day back.

Just a quick popping-in. Loved Matt in tall-hat in the opening credit and liked the outdoor live OS last night. They all looked themselves in the daylight, made everything more natural. No Matt close-ups for me sadly though Matt having ice-cream and the little jump at the end of the show compensated somehow. His ice-cream was melting anyway; don’t think he managed to finish it.


Very informative KK, sounds this type of communication has been working well and acknowledged or even interacted by a certain person, wonderful! Does the busy Mr President need a secretary to deal with his fanmail, btw? Cos I can offer my service for free of charge… hee…hee, only joking!

Nice and warm here, tho the cloud are starting to bubbling up.

Did some bird rescuing this morning while walking the dog, noticed a sparrow had got caught up a bird tree branch and was tweeting and flapping to try and free itself, it was to high to see how it was caught while it was flapping in the tree, so i broke of the tree branch and put it on the ground, it turned out that the leaves were very sticky and sappy and it had got the end of its wing feathers stuck to the leaves, so i gently pulled the feathers off the leave and it happily flew away

Hi Lotus - sounds as if your life is so so busy at the moment. I'm finding that this week I'm beginning to emerge from 2 very difficult months and have had one or two minutes to spare. Hope you manage to have some time to yourself during the Jubilee weekend - how exciting to be going up to London for the Boat Pageant - the atmosphere will be fantastic. I'm helping at a special Jubilee lunch and we will have the tv on so we can see some of the pageant - but I will record it anyway.

Yes, GRJ has a new series on Britain's Lost Routes....that would have been a great prog for Matt (and very easy on the eye) but of course our man is so busy on matters of state at the moment. But I expect Matt will get excited talking about it with GRJ.....and we may get some additional anecdotes about CF and Secret Britain!!

Nowt much to add at the moment, other than to say hope all peeps having an excellent day, and we have so much to look forward to at the weekend.

A good tos tonight, griff was a really chatty guest. he's show sounds quite interesting, might watch it.
Matt looked very lovely tonight ,he has a range of different coloured trews, quite nice, and a new shirt i think,very nice, top button nice undone and a tiny bit of stubble lots of knee hugging, the camera person gave us a couple of lovely close ups
A happy bouncy matt tonight, mentioned doing the boat pagent from the studio over the weekend should be good

Another lovely OS tonight, not sure what it was all about as rather distracted by exciting light blue denim shirt, mustard trews and heavy brown boots. It was a very outdoorsy outfit for an indoorsy programme. And what frolics tonight on the other channel Mr B performs the old flipflops again.

I was just going to post that myself whilst waiting for something to open on my PC. That is a decent rating given the weather and emphasised with a fantastic share. Still amazes me that last year it was down around 16-17%...

Hated Matt's jacket in the beach scenes, but I did like his jumper. It was, for me, a rather forgettable episode of CountryFile. Not a lot to say about it.

I don't think the brown and yellow jacket is my favourite, but I think it is the 'migraa'ory jacket and for that reason alone I can't help but love it. Also, having been one of the (in)famous group who demolished the only tub of rock and choc icream ever made by Mr Baker's fair (and rather exceptionally large) hands, I will treasure the episode.

Theo was a good guest tonight. I said before I've noticed guests reappearing on TOS are a lot more respectful second time around. Whether they've learned to appreciate two people doing a good, and rather difficult, job, or whether it's if you can't beat 'em join 'em I don't know, but they are different.

Didn't hear what Matt said about granite so thought initially Theo was shocked that Matt knew what sort of kitchen he had and wondered what was going on. Bet he'll go back now and have his kitchen redone I thought we were being bombarded by radioactive particles all the time anyway. What difference does a few more make.

I have a funny story for you (which knowing me I may well have told you before). Shortly after the Chernobyl accident I went to my local supermarket and saw boxes of vegetables standing in the aisle waiting to be put on the shelves. On the top of the top box was a label that said "contamines" - which if you put an accent on the last e is French for contaminated. I panicked for a good few moments, wondering how on earth the Swiss authorities had let these into the country - then common sense took over and I remembered that the street where the supermarket is located is Rue des Contamines. Common sense should also have told me that we don't import a lot of vegetables from Russia of course. But that's panic for you.

Oh, nearly forgot. Liked the way Matt looked tonight. Very ordinary shirt, but looked good on him with the close fit around the shoulders and right amount of buttons undone. Not as stunning as last night but he'll do.
