Evening all

A great cf tonight, a great start with matt in his shorts, he didn’t hit the boom mike the second time around on the golf course,the course looks lovely ,he did a bit of bodding around all the different place, studland beach looks beauitful, good game of cricket on the beach, didn't take his shoes and socks off and go in the sea to get the ball back, couldn't have a wet matt wonder how much of the picnic he ate.

They crammed a lot this evening and used nearly all the presenter, like the way they showed Adams farm in the first half of the year with the crops growing and the trees coming into leaf, and the mummy pig and the babies having a bath.

A clip show next week, at last we get to see beardy matt again, hope they don't chop it up to much

Its great that matt torch lighting made it on his local news, great pics of him doing the lighting, love the itv interview, he was so bouncy. Bet the torch has pride of place at home.

Hello all! Whilst Matt's time on Countryfile last night was limited (I suspect he had filming time constraints with the kids) it was very nicely put together. Matt looked far better as a 1940s schoolboy than any grown man has a right too! He looked boyish - which was totally appropriate

I dot think I'd go on a picnic with him though - his food choices were rubbish

I guess I'm the only person around today! Rating for Countryfile is in:

18:30 - Countryfile: 4.95m (25.3%)

It was against Emmerdale and the start of the football. Comfortably beat Emmerdale, and probably beat the football pre-match stuff too

CF is doing well in the rating as it has been moved around a fair bit recently and to beat emmerdale as well, beeb will be happy

I've been on the go all day. Doctor for me this morning, vet for Sooty this afternoon. Went to the vets in a sort of rickshaw, driven by a young girl (eat your heart out Matt!). Most enjoyable taxi ride I've ever had. Not so sure Sooty enjoyed it though.

That's a good share for CountryFile. Things are all over the place at the moment with the scheduling and will stay that way for the next couple of months, so I think viewing figures are going to be pretty meaningless anyway.

Horray im in, logged out days ago and have just managed to log back in!

Rita hope all went well at the doctors for you and at the vets for sooty?

Just back from a long walk with the dogs and after a hour on the treadmill earlier i feel its kill or cure

My other new job starts next week so will then be doing 3 will hopefully work out though, it will just take abit of juggling to begin with

Good luck with the third job next week Cass, hope it won't be too much for you? You'll need some time to breathe Well done for the treadmill and walkies with the dogs by the way. Since OH went and broke his leg my walks have become fewer but I would really love the chance to get fit again (but then I was never fit in the first place )

And Rita, haven't been able to check on the other 'channels' so like Cass I really hope today wasn't too traumatic for you nor Sooty. I have the dentist on Friday which of course will be the highlight of my week ....haha.....

Just to say Emma that the weekend in D'ham was absolutely marvellous, some of us got pics with the great man, he is simply the best, a fantastic man!

Fine for me Cass. Just regular blood coagulation test. You'll know what that's all about. Sooty, not so lucky. He's off his food and losing weight plus urinary tract problems. Don't know the problem, but vet has given him antibiotics and anti-inflammatory stuff. Am struggling at the moment with one of those medicine tops where you push and turn to open and they never, ever work properly. Know what I mean?

I know it sounds alot but it will actually be alot easier shift wise, the most i will do in a row will prob be 4 with 1 day shift 8.30-16.30 everyother week so am hoping it will work out ok, as they say varity is the spice of life

Ive really got into exercise bout time really, its now or never have lost almost a stone quite pleased with myself!


Oh Rita i do hope Sooty will be ok how old is he? give him a cuddle from me!

Been a lovely warm day and may fit in a quick walk before dinner - I've not been able to do much since OH's accident.

I logged in earlier but family dropped by, so that was that!

Pleased to hear your shift pattern will be better for you Cass, and you may have one minute for yourself And well done on the exercise and losing weight, that's a tremendous achievement! And horray the trainer said you knew what you were doing....as I said earlier, you could show them a thing or two with all your years of experience.

And Rita, glad you are OK but sorry to hear about Sooty - I do hope he responds to the medication, urinary tract problems are common I think in elderly cats? I'm sure he'll start to pick up once all the drugs start working.....and when you can open the bottle Take a pair of scissors to it!

SkyBlue - yes, am still in seventh heaven and have shown selected people my Matt piccie I haven't had too much ribbing from my immediate family because they saw it was Matt, me and the famous Olympic torch!

SG, great to know you have a marvellous weekend in Durham and personally saw the man in white. Have you taken any photos with him? I saw Matt taking over the flame in the live torchcam but it died when he started en-route to the Racecourse so I didn’t chance to see him running with the flame. But fortunately I saw him again on the BBC News Channel, on the stage interacting with the crowd when the countdown began and eventually lit the cauldron. I got it recorded, just 60 seconds clip. People were cheering so a bit noisy so I couldn't hear what he was saying/yelling but I managed to read his lips and it was a big ‘yeeeesssssssssss’ from him if I am not wrong.

During penalty shootouts the best position I find is in the kitchen sitting on top of the washing machine. You can hear from the cheers whether or not it's safe to go back into the living room, and to viewers you can pretend you've just gone to get something to drink

Still, the result was not so bad was it. Only had to sit out the last couple of minutes for fear of a return goal. Yaayy!

Hi Emma, yes I did take quite a lot of photos and I was fortunate enough to have my photo taken with him on his way to the hospitality marquee (thud!) We were positioned near the stage and after he lit the torch he came down to just in front of us (but a few yards away) and we were able to see him for about 10 minutes while he was doing all the interviews. Twas a truly marvellous and fantastic afternoon! Glad you managed to record the short clip of him lighting the cauldron, something which captures the excitement of the afternoon.

We have VTs on a commando unit training in the highlands during the 2nd world war (Dan Snow), people's front garden planting (Christine Walkden), and bowel cancer screening (Chris Evans - who had just had a cancer scare)

I enjoyed this show. Matt looking wonderfully laid back, dishevelled and bestubbled. Alexandra Burke was lovely and so was her little dog. Alex looked as though she was wearing her grandmother's scarf Strange dress.
