Yes. Only 2 people have replied - one of them wasn't negative, and the other must have been lurking, waiting to jump in and say Blue Peter!

Hope Maid Marion had a great time in Stratford watching Twelfth Night - 45 years married eh! A great achievement.

Thanks very much J. , had a lovely evening, beautiful weather and we got to Stratford early and sat and had a drink (soft one for me - blame Lent) opposite the Theatre. Lots of people watching. Twelfth Night was very well done - very comic, but thought provoking as well. I LOVE the updated Theatre, it is such fine architecture, enclosing the old theatre.

Nice to hear from Mr. B again; he's making me feel bad about not doing the SR Mile - but I have a good excuse for tomorrow

Evening all

Hope everyone had a good day
It's been a beautiful sunny day here, quite warm.
Hot enough to do a little gardening and sit in the sun for a few hours this afternoon.

The things people find to moan about i've not noticed him saying those words alot, he hasn't been on blue peter for nearly 6 years and they still bring it up.

He has been a tweety boy,its great to hear from him

Evening to everyone!

Just got back from celebratory meal (OH's birthday week before last and mine upcoming!) with friends in local Greek restaurant. Portions were very large...one meal down, two to go!

Today was taken up with grandchildrenminding, clearing up as have rellies round in the afternoon tomorrow, and tonight's meal....been a bit of a hectic day!

Wonder whether The Voice was any good? Missed all telly today so I'll start afresh tomorrow. Must remember to record the SR Mile and CF as will be otherwise engaged.

Hope your shift wasn't too arduous Cass and that you've survived the first day back!

Rita, the bit with Matt and Alex on the SR show last night when they were talking about the SR Mile was literally on for a minute if that, so no need to trawl through hours of SR Night footage!

Happy to hear that you had a great anniversary Maid Marion with a lovely meal and a marvellous play to watch. Sounded superb.

My 'mouse' is in the process of giving up the ghost so I think I'd better rest the little rodent for now until tomorrow. Probably need a new one, ooh it's just gone wobbly again so I'll quit while I'm ahead.

CCM dear peeps, have good sleeps in readiness for major thudding tomorrow. xx

Morning all - what a beautiful day.

Saw Wicked yesterday - I'll use all the superlatives that FB has been accused of using (as does every other presenter - just listen to the Radio! Ought to be an award for whinger of the yearrolleyes:
Had a very quick look at posts as you can see but will catch up later

Went down the Mall - Union flags/SR flages everywhere. If only I was there a day later Train going up to London was standing room only.

Back later

It was not that he used to be, wasn’t it? He normally tweets one in a week or a fortnight.

Well done to your son Lotus and everyone who completed SR Mile successfully.

He just used a few of those words this afternoon. He might have seen or heard it and did it deliberately just to annoy that person. He is the one others can’t afford to annoy him. I remember, before the OS aired live from the palace we heard someone moaned about his thigh slapping. And thanks to that person, he managed to do it again live from the palace.

Matt was making a joke about the trolley dash . Sainsburys sponsor the Sports Relief mile (and pushing a trolley is the sort of thing some people do). And the Chris / Paula comment related to the fact that Olympics cycling and marathon finish on the mall

And as for tweeting - whilst on Strictly Matt was tweeting once a day. For Countryfile he was in the habit of tweeting a couple of times a week (to say where he was filming and to then to say what he'd been filming). But he disappeared for a couple of months this year when he was on holiday and after that. We did worry he'd given up so when he didn't tweet for 20+ days again... And now he's tweeted loads of times this week which is great

Like I said a bit ago I think he needs something to engage him and make him tweet. Either that or he needs to be stuck on his way to film somewhere and be bored

Thank you for answering my question KK. I didn't know how frequent he tweeted during strictly and the days before he disappeared. You made a common sense regarding the need of encouragement to make him tweet. And yes I remember that you posted his 3 tweets when he stuck on the motorway.

No he doesnt tweet unless for a reason which makes them all the more interesting.

Lovely commentary this afternoon and yes he did use some of those supetlatives but so do most other presenters as well Loved the sensitive way in which he interviewed the elderly gentleman who had had the stroke. That is the sort of challenge that I love to see - a real personal achievement. AMAZING to coin an overused phrase

Emma - may thanks for the Samba pics - happy days

Just watched the Sports Relief mile show and thought that both Matt and Alex did a great job. They controlled a long, live, programme really well and were very natural and relaxed. I think some people on other forums and twitter don't realise the skill involved in being able to present shows like this...

I'm hoping that this is going to lead to more opportunities on similar occasions. I'd love to see Matt presenting some of the Golden Jubilee stuff (preferably the boat pageant as that's going to be fantastic)

It's been an amazing day altogether. SR this afternoon, followed by a fantastic episode of CF. Didn't Matt look good on the SR show. I also thought they did a great job, very much One Showish but then that's the way it should be - since it was basically an extension of that. I just saw one or two comments on twitter that weren't very nice. Were there others? I can understand if you don't like Matt and/or Alex it must be irritating for them to be on so much, but hey, just have to get used to it and go along with the tastes of the 5m plus TT viewers, and 6m plus CF viewers - or just switch channels. That's what I'd do in their place. Never understood why people would sit and watch something they're not enjoying.

Loved the lambs on CF (Matt's lambs I should add - I never watch the AH segment). And Matt must be feeling springlike, with baby lambs under his arms one minute and human babies the next. I can't believe that gorgeous little boy is Julias. It really seems like 5 minutes ago she went on maternity leave.

And I'm really looking forward to next week's CF when Matt shows us his

Emma thanks for the pics the last 2 sets of matt are fabulous
he does look very gorgeous and lovely in them

A lovely cf tonight, sweet start with to cf with matt holding to lambs in his arms, lucky ladies having him on the farm, very funny with him trying to hold the trout in the lake and they kept wiggling out of his hands, baby z is quite sweet, was very happy sitting on matt's knee, wouldn't we all, so matt's going to show us his next week
Should be a good one up on the farm

I do hope he gets more similar opportunities. Quite apart from his general popularity, far outweighing the odd (in every sense) whinger, I think he is likely to be popular with the technical people. He turns up on time, having done the preparation work, and no doubt concentrates and is without any kind of posing or tantruming. And undoubtedly, the camera loves him. I'm saying that from things I've seen written at the time of Blue Peter and since, and not just (I hope) from my ahem, fondness for him. I think he must be a dream for crews to work with. This shows in the amount of good filming he manages to get in on a Friday, although it never seems long enough for us. Also, so many of the people he meets while filming CF seem to fall under his spell.

Grrrrr Internet has timed out twice and lost entire post.
Well what a Matt fest today, He and AJ did a very good job of anchoring the SR mile . It was presented in the genre of T1S a light entertaining programme with occasional serious overtones and one or two of the items were handled with a great deal of sensitivity.

Loved the in his element Matt on CF with the girls (4 legged variety) tucked under his arms , letting the trout slip through his fingers and having a nibble with JB and the lovely Zeph - the two cutest boys on TV.

Cant wait for MB to show us his next week

A belated good evening!
No PC at the moment as mouse has died! So am relying on the iPad for Internet communications! Thank goodness for modern technology.

I caught a glimpse of mb on the SR mile programme and he looked marvellous. May save watching that until tomorrow.

Sounds as if cf was a thoroughly enjoyable programme as well, looking forward to seeing Matt with the lambs. bet he looks as adorable as them!

As feeling quite washed-out will CCM now and wish you all sweet mb dreams. xx

4.47m (21.4%) for CF last night. Lowest figure and percentage for a long time. I'm guessing low figure due to fantastic weather and low percentage due to DOI final! Can't help thinking what a shame for all those who missed Matt with the lambs
