Best IPAD apps and games
With a lot of people getting an IPAD, many for the first time, in the next couple of days, what do people think are the must have apps/ games for these people, or does anyone know of any hidden gems that are great, but don't often get mentioned.

Off the top of my head...
Apps... Various free apps: iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD, Demand Five, TV Catchup, Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, BBC News, Sky News, Channel 4 News, Dropbox, Sky Go, Sky+, Skype... Some paid ones: Pages, Keynote, Numbers, iMovie, Garageband, iPhoto, AirPlayer, AVPlayerHD, iCab Mobile... Games: Jetpack Joyride, Temple Run, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, World of Goo, Infinity Blade 1 & 2, Sonic 4 Episode 1, GTA 3, GTA Chinatown Wars, Real Racing 2, Lost Winds, Galaxy on Fire 2... Some of those games are universal apps, some are "HD" versions specifically for the iPad. |

Trainyard has a good reputation as a puzzle game. I've only had a brief play but based on that it did seem to be a nice challenge. You have to draw railway tracks with your finger so as to route colour-coded trains to their correct destinations.
I think it was designed for the iPod and I don't know how well it runs on an iPad. There's a free lite version called Trainyard Express. |
