I've got a s***e phone and I'm neither proud nor not-proud.

It does everything I want - I can phone and I can text.

Why pay more for functions I don't want?

oooh, I've been tempted by that thing - if it was a lower price then you can forget iphones, that really would be the coolest mobile around

A Samsung galaxy s2 is about £400. I pay £40 a month for mine, on a 12 month contract. Ok so thats £480 for the year, but I use more than £80 worth of minutes, texts and data, so it makes more sense to me to get a 'free' contract phone and change it when I upgrade. Last phone I would have received £125 off envirofone (if I hadnt lost it the day after my upgrade )

I'm still using a five (or is it six) year old Motorola on PAYG. I can make calls & send texts. That's all I need a phone to do. Why change it?

Does anyone remember the model number of my first mobile phone?

It was a Motorola.

It was quite long (maybe 6" or 7") and thin, with a rounded back.

It had a rigid antenna, about 2" or 3" long, which screwed into the top, off to one side.

Mine was a hand-me-down from my mother. That was on One2One too. It'll be ten years in the summer since I was given it, phones have come such a long way in that time.

Agree, i use it for satnav, music (i have an av connection in my car to use the phone as incar music), camera (so i dont need a seperate digi camera or a digital video camera as it does that as well)..

so yes no need for a mp3 player as its built in and can be used in the car, browers for the net (its the fastest android) everything shows up instantly.. no need for a digital camera or video etc it does it all.

Nope, it wasn't double curved at the back.

I think the name was M followed by a number.

The M3288 looks like the one doom&gloom.

When I said thin, I didn't mean super thin.

I wonder if they would still work?

EDIT: I'm wrong.

It was the M3788.

That brings back memories, not least the price of the calls.

They would still work except for on the 3 network as they only have 3G sims.

To be fair, the best camera is the one you always have with you. I take cr@ppy 2M pixel shots with my Nokia to remind me of places I've been, good times, and so on.

This sagem 815

http://www.mobile88.com/mobileversio...C815/index.asp

Was my first phone back in 99. I loved that thing. It kept me from being isolated when I moved to a new flat with my 2 kids back then.

I was amazed when I discovered texting on it. I remember going through all the features and coming across SMS. I hadn't ever heard of text messages and was amazed when I tried it and got a message back. I thought I was some sort of genius

I have an iPhone which I use more than my pc which my kid's take over. As a phone, a social network too, to watch vids, to type this reply. Loads really, but I do sometimes think I should give it up for a more simple phone.

I have a galaxy S 2 at the mo, have changed my phone 5 times in the past 2 years, I get bored of phones easily :P. Started off with a Nokia 3310 though, still have it as a backup phone for going to festivals with etc.

Not as retro as some on here, but I've got a Nokia 1208 which I've had for about ten years. The SIM card has only needed replacing once, and it's never missed a beat (until it fell out of my pocket a few weeks ago and the screen cracked!). I don't need internet or music or anything else on my phone and I don't have any close friends to text constantly - all I want is something that can make and receive phone calls.

No. I love having the internet at my beck and call, google street view, email, decent camera, 1080p recording.... it's hardly expensive, so why not?

My mobile is a Nokia 7250i bought new in 2004 for £60 and still running with original battery. Bought it to make and receive calls......I just need a phone!
