Hayley Tammadon overrated?

I was recently watching 2010's dancing on ice and I sometimes found that Hayley was extremely overmarked and overhyped a lot of the time. Now I like her and she was an excellent skater but I found that on her weaker dances she was still on top of the leader. Anyone else agree?

She was the best of the bunch, no denying that. But her dominance over the series drove me nuts. I always prefer things to be a bit closer, like this year, where you really dont know whos going to win.
I loved just about every routine Daniella did, which probably didnt help. But I dont really think Hayley was overrated, and she didnt ALWAYS top the leader board. Daniella beat her on prop week when Hayley had the brolly and Daniella had the chair.

I wasn't a fan of Hayley. But she was good and deserved the win imo.

Hayley did most things well. She seemed though to get a lot of Dan like lifts - which turn up with all Dan's partners She also did a wide range of moves the other top girls could do - but she tended only to do them once - unlike say Suzanne who got to develop her moves. Change Dan for Matt and his range of moves, and give Hayley Music and who knows what might happen.I think they also settled with Jai Ho as a top class routine for her on the series and to use on the tour - if they hadn't thought of that routine she might have become known for doing something else.

Would LOVE to have seen them try lol, she'd have refused, she only done the show on the condition she got Dan, and as for the rubbish about being bestest friends in the whole wide world...................................

I find that this happens with Matthew this series. Im not denying hes a great skater and one of the best but I think he is overhyped a lot

Danniella was the only one I thought could match Hayley and I loved her and Hayley that series but i knew Danniella wouldnt get enough support. She did well considering she was favourite to be first out

Not at all, she was my favourite and she deserved every mark and her win.

I agree, but also i do agree its very boring when you know from day one whose gonna win though. Like with Hayley Tammadon and with Ray Quinn. Its not that I dont think they deserved it, its just theres no element of suspense

I liked her up until the Jai Ho routine, then I fell in love with her.

I also mostly liked her because of Dan, he's beautiful.

Yes, but it's just great to watch them so I don't mind.

She was fantastic...not over rated at all. Her Jai Ho routine was incredible, and will go down as one of the best performances ever on the show. This argument happened throughout 2010...and I think it would be nice to move forward now, and focus on 2012

Loved Hayley she was the best of that year and far better than Jorgie and Matthew in my opinion.

I think Hayley was a bit overrated she was good but not to the degree that was made of it personally I preferred Daniella's routines and I would have liked to have seen her actually make it to the final. I would have liked to have seen Daniella partnered with Dan that year I think they would have been quite a funny partnership. Sometimes the partnership between Dan and Hayley seemed a bit contrived at times and to me they didn't always seem to have the connection that Dan has had with some of his other partners.

I think Hayley is like Jorgie in a lot of ways fairly good at the basics but good at performing and disguising it to look much more than it actually is.

I loved her Jai Ho! routine. In my opinion, that was the best one ever.

Jorgie is probably better at the lifts. Its far from clear on the skating. Both are skilled actors and dancers. Some routines are just better than others though so you can't really judge. You would have to get them to do each other's or Suzanne or Clare's routines to be able to compare. Or you could ask Matt who I think has skated with all 4 - though he wouldn't say.

I do think Hayley was favoured - even the week Dan tripped and dropped her she still finished top of the leaderboard - how could that happen

The props routine with the umbrella was perhaps the simplest (and least interesting) of the night, but yet again the judges put her in the lead - until Daniella stunned everyone with a show stopping performance and got top marks

I also think Hayley was favoured on tour. They always have two routines, one to be scored on, one a showcase routine. Usually half way through the tour they swap over so they are scored on their other routine - but Hayley was scored on Jai Ho all the way through the tour, the only person that didn't swap over

Plus last year she was marked up at the top with Sam all the tour (and most nights did Bolero). I think Laura and Chloe were better skaters and should have been scoring over Hayley.

You're right. Let's not talk any more about the overhyped, overmarked, overpraised skaters of the past and instead move on to the overhyped, overmarked, overpraised skaters of 2012.

That Jorgie Porter's been getting an awful lot of good comments for some routines that really didn't deserve it, hasn't she?

I thought she the best in that year but that was essentially because Gary Lucy couldn't be bothered. He could easily have outperformed Hayley if his heart had been in it but he always seemed rather embarrassed about skating.

It's interesting that most years the winner is a live performer of some kind (rather than someone who only works in a studio). Like most live performers Hayley has the knack of 'switching on' when she is in front of a live audience and it brings the performance alive.

Yes....and Jennifer has been getting a lot of good scores for sitting on top of a suitcase and being dragged around the rink...hasn't she?

Actually I think you'll find she only got one half-decent score for that. Jorgie's received 24.5 and more for a lot less in several instances

Hm...disagree entirely with this !!! In fact...the complete opposite. Her 'Skinny Love' routine deserved way more than the 18.0 she received.
However 2 weeks ago...Jen was over marked.
As she was 3 weeks ago...
And 4 weeks ago...

I found it interesting that when I went to see DOI on tour the year that Hayley was in it for the first time, how I thought she was slightly over-hyped. I mean the girl was good not denying that but when I actually saw her on tour I thought her routines didn't translate as well onto the bigger rink. It might have been because Chris and Ray were just so good but she did pale in comparison.

I loved Hayley but I do agree that Chris and Ray were way ahead of her and I didn't need to go and see the tour to realise that.
