Im Due an upgrade tomorrow (16th) but I don't want to upgrade until the quad core phones arrive, so if I don't upgrade one what will happen?
Will orange cut me off?
Will they put me on a higher rate?
Will my minutes go and I charged for every call and text I send?

Thanks

Your contract should simply roll over and you should keep getting the same rates etc.

Does Orange do something like O2's simplicity tariff? Effectively a SIM-only deal where you pay much less for a similar call plan if you choose to reject/defer a new handset. If you take the monthly option with o2, you can then simply call in your upgrade when the phone you want appears in their market and then take on a new pay-monthly tariff.

Whether you upgrade or not is entirely down to you. There is nothing at all that says you must upgrade every time your contract period ends.

If you choose not to upgrade then basically nothing much happens. You just continue as you have been for the past year. Most tariffs simply roll over from one period to the next.

In fact I was on an Orange tariff that ceased to exist years before I finally moved to a newer one. Orange didn't seem to care. Never nagged me to change it, just kept billing me the same as ever. They even sent random texts telling me I was on the best tariff for my needs long after they stopped doing the one I was on!

Just got off the phone to orange and the have offered me a sim free deal that offers me 300 minutes unlimited texts and 500mb internet for £15 per month on a rolling contract. Bargain. Or should I ask for more?

Make sure its a ONE MONTH rolling contract. And that you won't be losing any loyalty discounts you have. This way, because its a one month rolling contract you can upgrade at any time.

And yeh thats not a bad deal, see if you can push for a bit more minutes or something though if you need them. Is it less than you were paying before?

I did that, my contract ended but I wanted 2 months to get a Galaxy S2...

What they do is keep your same plan, so same mins/texts & data and same cost a month but it flips over to a 30 day contract so u can call them anytime and either upgrade when you are ready or cancel the contract at no cost
