I know Jennifer had to go, but her departure has taken a lot of my interest away. I will still watch the show of course, but I will miss her. That's what is meant by star quality. I hope we see in something else this year - perhaps Strictly Come Dancing?

I doubt that very much John - no one has ever appeared on both DOI and SCD.

I too will miss Jen. Maybe not the best skater (I still maintain T&D have much to answer for in that direction) but imo her flexibility and beauty of performance made her very special.

John Barrowman was on both, if you allow the Christmas Special. Jen would actually do better on SCD.

I wasn't including the Christmas Special though I do agree Jen would make a very special ballroom/latin dancer - but can you imagine the ranting, raving and screams of 'unfair' if she did participate?

Very special indeed.

I'm curious. This is a skating competition. Is it not therefore more or less a given that the person who can skate best should get through to the final?

Did I say otherwise?

Not always a given Stefan Booth wasn't the best skater he made it to the final and came second and I know she gets slated on here but Gaynor Faye as well. I think Daniella was better than Kieron but he made it to the final over her.

If it happens that the publics favourite is not the best skater that does not automatically exclude them from the final if the public want them there then they have just as much right as someone who has been the judges favourite all series. As we keep getting told when voting you vote for your favourite not who is the best.
