Parallel to that ITV's dirty tactics such as their attempts to rubbish The Voice on Daybreak in the week represented a new low for the broadcaster. Sour grapes sprang to mind. But Daybreak's pitifully low audience figures ensured this bias was not exposed to anyone but hardcore ITV viewers who wouldn't watch anything else anyway.
.
What did they do? I missed it

Just noticed the BGT rerun on ITV2 is on really early this week (4.15pm). That won't help matters. The Voice reruns at the usual time of 7pm, which incidentally is also when the Formula 1 highlights used to go out on BBC Three, but we won't go there!
It's been at about that time all series. No idea why but it's still been getting 600-700k or so in that slot I think.

Good to see BGT at 10m (inc +1) - The Voice might be making it look less impressive but it's doing very well.

Shrek did nicely for BBC1 but Lemonaid didn't flop as badly as it could've done - 17% isn't too bad. Best of TV Burp didn't do much worse than the new episode did against The Voice a couple of weeks ago. Surprisingly low for Take Me Out, I know it ended very late but I would have expected the BGT lead-in to help more than that. I do wonder if a 14 week run is a couple of weeks too many for it. It seems to be really denting BGMT and Million Pound Drop though. MPD did very badly, C4 have completely overexposed it.

Ridiculous postings from the majority today [with a few honourable exceptions]. Last week the gap between BGT and Voice increased; this week it decreased. Could be loads of reasons why, but to go on one weeks stats just shows how short attetions spans are here. Being out of the country for Easter makes it difficult to guage which ones are important - suffice to say where I am, nobody has heard of either show

As for some of the ridiculous postings attacking ITV for mentioning BGT at all whilst talking about the BBCs brilliant PR strategy, well I think they need to do the old rep[lace "ITV" for "BBC" and vice versa trick and re-read them!

George you are a shameless ITV promoter ...but I agree with you. For BGT to suddenly lose all those viewers after so many people enjoyed last week's show is unusual and I think other factors are at work here NOT the quality of the show. This week will be seen as an anomaly rather than a trend in BGT's ratings. At the same time The Voice DID increase its ratings and that is impressive.

The Formula 1 highlights are on at 7pm next week - but on BBC Two rather than Three.

Worth noting the battle round episodes are 90 minutes (Sat 21st 7-8.30, Sun 22nd 7.30-9). Surely ITV will blink and have to move BGT later? We should find out on Tuesday, it'll be an interesting decision...

Don't get me wrong, I still want The Voice to fail - not much chance of that now alas....

But to beat BGT - and TROUNCE it head to head - is truly seismic. The official ratings will be interesting, I wonder if Voice will keep its lead?

Cowell will be bereft today - if he's not already topped himself at the news - and that of course is highly satisfying.

First SCD slays TXF, now Voice knifes BGT.

Not surprised it "Trounced" it head to head - how many folk do you think will watch a show for an hour then suddenly decide to give up and switch over for the last 20 mins??!!

I think ITV made a mistake with Lemonaid last night they should have gone for

1815 YBF
1845 Harry Hill
1915 Take Me Out
2030 BGT
2145 Lemonaid

and made Lemonaid more risque

Saturday 7th April Overnights
Channel 4
21:10- The Million Pound Drop Live: 1.16m (5.2%) , +1: 155k (0.9%)
Million Pound Drop now getting similar figures to The Bank Job. Sums it up really. It has drastically gone down hill in the last few months. The show has now become a joke of itself and it's totally predictable. We know each show always has the following.

- At least one couple being thick and losing everything early on. Nearly all the time, the whole £1 Million
- At least one couple reaching question 8 with less than £100,000.
- Davina ALWAYS goes to the break before the answer to question 8 is revealed.

I see they barely mention the numbers who play the online game anymore. I notice on Friday they said around 37,000 were playing but last year they were having over 80,000 people.

George - the gap didn't just "decrease", it was obliterated and became a deficit!

I hope ITV employ you in the spin department and not just ordering in stationery....

I fully expect that next Saturday my household will watch Dad's Army on BBC2 at 8pm but switch over for the last 10 minutes to watch In It To Win It on BBC1 at 8.20.

Saturday 7th April Overnights
BBC One
20:20- The National Lottery: In It To Win It: 4.39m (18.2%)

ITV1
18:15- Keith Lemon's LemonAid: 3.28m (17.1%) , +1: 135k (0.6%)
19:00- You've Been Framed: 3.3m (15%) , +1: 144k (0.6%)
19:30- Harry Hill's the Best of TV Burp: 3.18m (13.8%) , +1: 288k (1.2%)
20:00- Britain's Got Talent: 9.43m (38.7%) , +1: 532k (2.3%)
* peak (exc +1): 11.3m
* peak (inc +1): 11.9m
* 20:00-20:00: 6.3m

21:15- Take Me Out: 4.06m (18.6%) , +1: 235k (1.1%)
I know everybody is on about The Voice vs BGT but I have to give In It to Win It credit. Given the show is nearly 10 years old. It has beaten everything on ITV primetime apart from one show.

Yeah but Lemonaid was never commisioned to be risque.
I caught a bit of it last night and was shocked at how many in-jokes there were. Its like they think Keith Lemon is big and well known.
He does amazingly for ITV2 - but thats for ITV2.

They need to pull back and introduce the show. Overall it looked pretty dire, he seemed more like a pedophile who'd been given the early tea time slot. Thats not to be too harsh, its just his act didn't change and so he comes across as the dirty old weirdo from down the street.

I just think ITV are failing to use him in any good way. The show itself didn't seem to work from the bits I saw, and felt more like a variety pilot. I think it'll be down next week.

The Lemon personna is something that doesn't fit in the 6pm slot.. much like he didn't really fit into the This Morning slot.

But ITV are to blame for that. They put BGT on at 8pm in the hope people would switch to them and in the process dent The Voice. If they started after The Voice finished they'd be the top show of the night. But as they wanted this clash they've created another story where the BBC can say "but in a head to head The Voice won!"

And last night was the second time in years that BGT wasn't the top show of the night excluding +1 viewers. This is all down to ITV making the shows clash.

So well done ITV!

31/03/12 (20.00-20.20): Britain's Got Talent: 7.0m (27.8%)
07/04/12 (20.00-20.20): Britain's Got Talent: 6.0m (24.2%)
Difference: 1.00m

31/03/12 (20.00-21.05): Britain's Got Talent: 10.28m (41.3%)
07/04/12 (20.00-21.15): Britain's Got Talent: 9.43m (38.7%)
Diference: 0.85m

All figures exclude +1.

As I said last night, the unexplainable positioning of the ad breaks have hurt Britain's Got Talent and little else. To not start on time and then have an ad break while The Voice was on air makes little sense, commercially if nothing else. Last week's approach of starting dead on 8pm and then not holding an ad break until 8.20pm worked perfectly. ITV had more time to air ad breaks last night as well because of the extra 15 minutes and yet they didn't adjust? Bizarre....just, bizarre.

The Voice's figure is very impressive nonetheless. I'm not sure about criticising ITV's approach when thre former's PR campaign has been focused on deriding The X Factor. Lemonaid didn't perform as badly as it could've done considering but Shrek was a great choice of lead in from BBC One. You've Been Framed and TV Burp are tired choices to throw at The Voice and it's no wonder the latter is benefiting from it - bear in mind something like Merlin manages 6m+ opposite The X Factor. The Million Pound Drop has been overexposed and they need to give it a proper break now. You would've thought Channel 4 would've learnt their lesson by now but obviously not.

EDIT: I forgot to say - that's a poor rating for Take Me Out considering the lead in. For me, it's on too late. They may as well have thrown it against The Voice; it wouldn't have done much worse IMO.

Without meaning to offend, that's how Jimmy Saville struck me and it didn't hurt Jim'll Fix It.

The ITV1+1 Barb chart has been messed up for the last month with quite a lot of entries missing. I suspect when Mike Teevee does his 6-week amendments, BGT will appear weekly in the +1 chart with officials around 500-700k. The first BGT episode had a consolidated +1 audience of 700k and yesterday's episode had an overnight +1 figure of 500k.
Aah! that explains it, thanks!

Not really as if you're including iPlayer then you need to include BGT's ITV1 and ITV2 repeats. So BGT comes out on top overall.
Likewise you would also have to include the BBC Three Voice repeat as well then

How do the BBC Three repeats perform? I haven't seen any figures for it but I may have missed them.

How long have TVUK and BGT got to go this series?
Britain's Got Talent have got four more audition shows with the live semi finals running every day week commencing Monday 7th May with the final on Saturday 12th May. Details on what happens in the semi finals are yet to surface.

The Voice have got one more blind audition (next Saturday). Then they are airing both battle rounds over the following weekend on Saturday and Sunday (21/22 April). From 28th April to 2nd June will be the live shows.

Oh yes, definitely. BGT will still be ahead though as The Voice's BBC3 repeat hasn't been setting the world alight (it's been getting about 500k I think).

Thanks T Penery. So looks like TVUK has got nearly a whole month on its own after BGT finishes. An early start for TXF perhaps this year?

That all points to huge ratings for Eurovision on May 26th
