I haven't watched Titanic yet but have recorded on ITV1 HD to skip the ads. Not expecting a lot of excitement, but the cast seems strong. I wonder will it timeshift better? The officials will be out shortly after Episode 2 overnights - so if part 2 drops below 6m, and part 1 could be nearer 7.5m officially - giving a clear signal that viewers only gave it one chance.

Dancing on Ice departs on a low and it'll definitely need a revamp before it returns next winter. Titanic started well enough but then declined; it's going to sink against silent Witness next week which could spell trouble for Scott and Bailey on Monday. BBC One had a steady night; Homeland held up very well but Avatar struggled with the early start.

Drama at 8pm has been successful for BBC One and ITV1 with shows like Call the Midwife etc I never got why Channel 5 wasted a good slot with repeats rather than airing longer films until 9pm or just starting films at 9pm.

OUAT airs at 8pm on ABC, if it is successful then we could see more drama air at 8pm Sundays.

Given that they've had themed specials of Deal or No Deal, celebrity episodes seem like a fresh idea in comparison!

The Voice is still "most popular" on BBC iPlayer 48 hours after the event.

BBC Breakfast will come from Salford from Tuesday 10th April.

Could The Voice views be down to people wanting to know what all the fuss was about and watching? If they like it they may choose to watch live this week.

As for BBC Breakfast don't change the set. Nobody wants to see Salford!

I've given up trying to work out what the hell is going on at Channel 4. Everything is just a mess there at the moment. On the plus side I suppose we should be thankful they aren't stripping Celebrity Deal or No Deal across the week at 9 or 10. At this stage it seems depressingly possible.

It's clear that TVUK and BGT have a very similar profile so letting them clash seems ridiculous. I think ITV's best option for the future is:

18:30 - Lemonaid
19:15 - All Star Family Fortunes
20:15 - Britain's Got Talent
21:15 - Take Me Out/Mad Mad World

Lemonaid may well flop at 6:30pm but I bet it wouldn't do any worse than it'd do against The Voice, whilst All Star Family Fortunes could mop up a respectable audience against TVUK, especially with the BGT lead-out, whilst BGT would pretty much completely avoid TVUK which is for the best.

Sadly it was a plot!

I'd fling Primeval at The Voice; it's already dead and buried so being crushed isn't exactly going to hurt it and fantasy drama does well opposite The X Factor. Lemonaid should really be held back until the autumn now and given The X Factor as a lead out - at least it should have a different crossover audience to Strictly Come Dancing.

However, as Lemonaid is airing soon, I think you're right in that's the best option for them. It would mean ITV are airing a show they're hoping to be a relative success in daylight but as you say it'd do better there than against The Voice.

Looks like the 18 months break did no harm to Mad Men at all, I wonder if they'll keep it in March or shift it back to summer. It'll likely drop but AMC should be happy with the result.

The Killing returns next week although after its controversional ending, will anyone return for season 2? it did fairly well for AMC with 2-2.5m average but I wonder whether that'll be enough for AMC as they have big ratings hitters like The Walking Dead.

BBC News nearly always reports TV news fairly, often negative stories about their own shows and even untrue stories that out BBC shows in a bad light.

Considering ITV themselves said it was one of TV events of the year, I think a story about the widespread negative reaction is fair enough,

The fact you had to post about it tells me your a bit annoyed that it was crap and is going to rate pretty badly in the coming weeks.

I knew it wouldn't be long before DOND got a celeb version as they've exhausted the theme weeks. In fact the whole show is exhausted and overexposed, even if 1.6 million is quite good for an afternoon show.

Least its getting more than two episodes, this time around. It's always been a steady performer and it repeats well.

US Ratings Sunday March 25

With the aid of an NCAA overrun CBS look on course to just edge ABC on Sunday night but it'll be close when CBS is eventually unscrambled.

Over on ABC Once Upon A Time dropped to a series low but excluding sporting overrun will probably be the nights biggest show. At 9PM Desperate Housewives was steady vs. last week and at 10PM GCB climbed two tenths. A number that will see it given a second season if it can sustain.

Fox had a so-so night. With their two big hitters of Family Guy and The Simpsons in repeats Animation Domination took a hit although even in repeats Family Guy was still the biggest hitter of the block. Bob's Burgers was down a tenth and American Dad two tenths. The Cleveland Show was steady (although it always air out of a repeat).

NBC had a truly terrible night. Harry's Law hit a series low and just to highlight how old it skews it has around 500k fewer viewers than Once Upon A Time but was two entire points behind it in the demo. At 9PM Celebrity Apprentice tied a season low and a series low for the Celebrity version. God willing NBC will cancel it.

Finally Mad Men returned to AMC on Sunday night with its most watched episode ever (although that's not a high bar to clear). Details have been posted above but it was up 21% from the season four opener. Demo wise it pulled a 1.2 with 18-49 year old's which is predictably way down on the heights AMC saw last week with Walking Dead.

DOI seems to have lost over 2 million viewers from its very respectable 9.29 million for its debut show. I think maybe it's time it was allowed a managed decline on Saturdays, where ITV post TXF seem weak, and where anything above 5 million would be welcome. However, I can't see more than another two series left for the show, which doesn't feature enough dancing.

It's a good job ITV News doesn't do that then...oh wait it does! And seeing as Steven Moffat complained that the BBC News website wasn't reporting Doctor Who or his comment fairly I'd say yes they do it to BBC shows too.

As for Titanic people wanted to like it, thought it was crap and now probably find more fun in mocking it. It happens all the time with shows. You weren't around this thread when Bonekickers was on were you?

I'd suggest that its the success of The Walking Dead that has done Mad Men no harm. It wouldn't have returned this strongly if AMC hadn't been able to promote it heavily during that. And by the same token Breaking Bad probably wouldn't have seen the growth it did last year if it weren't for the exposure Walking Dead gave the entire network.

On the subject of The Killing. That's a tricky one to predict. I don't think there's going to be the mass desertion of viewers that some do. At least not from the get go. The trouble is going to be getting people to stick with it for the entire season again and to do that they're going to need a great opener and its a show that's yet to produce a great episode. What I find interesting is that they aren't using Mad Men as a lead-in for The Killing. That speaks volumes.

Next Sunday should be interesting in the US though – Game of Thrones returns. Season two of The Killing and the second episode of Mad Men. Be interesting to see where all the chips fall on that.

Bonekickers, I saw a DVD of this for 50 pence in Woolworths just before it closed down. It had the curse of Julie Graham written all over it, who managed to get Survivors and The Bill cancelled.

She's got quite the track record. A cancellation trifecta!

Bonekickers was a parody and the only people that didn't realise were those that made it!

I don't think it'll be on air in time to compete with The Voice but Broadcast reported last week that All Star Mr & Mrs is returning too, so something else for the old folks. Fern Britton has been dropped though with Phil Schofield hosting alone.


At least though stripped across a week at 9pm it would find an audience, unlike up against The Voice - though I guess it might grab the grannies who don't like Vernon Kay. Or Keith Lemon. Maybe C4 aren't that stupid after all.

I'd stick the next run of live episodes on at 8pm too - having double episodes at 4pm and 8pm for a week would cut down on costs too. Indeed I think Million Pound Drop has now exhausted it's weekend slot and although competitive I think it would work better airing in 1-2 week stints with episodes at 5pm and 9/10pm.
