Don't say that to The Voice!

Sunset comes at 7.20ish another sunny day and people will be out. The Voice has gone up for episode 2 in most countries but I think it'll be a miracle if it does here. When the sun is out viewers tend to go out.

Do you really believe that it was affected by the Avatar premiere? More than likely its target audience were out enjoying the countryside rather than watching it on TV. Avatar is more likely to have affected DOI.

Yeah, that's possible. Last year when the weather was nice though, I don't think its share fell as low as 21%, even though its target audience could've gone out and enjoyed the countryside. Its share yesterday was unusually low so I still think the Avatar premiere must've affected it to some degree.

I know but it was the first long day of light and sunshine so they probably were really excited and made the most of it

Watched past DOI shows, but didn't get into this years as I didn't know who many of them were, so I'm not surprised if others thought the same and switch off, as I never heard of gorgie porgy before or what she is/do, nor chemy either, who are sam, mark, matt or whatever they were called? where did they find that guy with the annoying strand of hair over his face, the only ones I have heard of before were Rosemary Conley and Chesney Hawkes, after seeing the first show of this, I sort of lost interest....

Thanks, Would you be able to do one for Dancing on Ice? That might be quite interesting?

Am I seeing a similar scenario to Shortland Street on Living here and Out of the Blue on Fiver, where because of poor ratings, one showing was axed, and then another moved then axed, and it just had one solitary showing a day afterwards?

Because, although the other 2 showings of Cleverdicks are safe for now, depending on ratings it'll only be a matter of time before Sky Atlantic put something like Star Trek: The Next Generation at 7pm and just air Cleverdicks at lunchtime, therefore cutting it to 1 airing a day.”

There are only two weeks of the show left. It will wrap up on Good Friday. It's still being repeated on Saturday and Sunday morning. I know the odd episode appeared in the top ten shows on BARB with the 7pm figure around 50k-60k. Still puzzles me that this show is on Sky Atlantic and not Sky Arts.

According to the new Radio Times series 2 of the Walking Dead starts on Channel 5 in May when the repeats of season 1 that start of 5* next week finish.

Accoding to TV Times Young James Herriot which didn't do very well on BBC1 has been axed which doesn't bode well for Upstairs Downstairs as they got similar ratings.

S&B falling below 6m doesn't bode well for the clash against SW pt2 next week. It lost 600k over the hour too.

Only a few days after EastEnders big explosive week, its already down below 8million and getting smaller share than Emmerdale. Skins is not popular anymore

Some really low soap ratings around last night, Neighbours getting very close to its all time low for a 17:30 episode and Eastenders did not maintain a bounce from its good ratings last week. Well done to Hollyoaks for staying a good margin over 1m though. Emmerdale and Corrie both had decent shares whilst Eastenders was below its seasonal average Monday share, indicating that it was more than just the weather affecting Eastenders.

Skins ending on 268k is atrocious.

CS posting decent shares last night, EE less so but with a decent BBC3 rating, so maybe bbq season has begun! A drop for Scott & Bailey, I watched Empire not exactly gripping stuff. Is that an all time low for Skins?

Tape checking ensures that the programme ratings were accurately recorded against the scheduled timeslot. In short they ought be measured almost exact to those that watched the programme regardless of the start or finish time.

For example if EE ran to 8.35 due to a newsflash, if the rating was tape checked it would cover the start to end of the programme and not the expected 8.00-8.30 rating.

Waterloo Road seems to have way more under 18's than most shows % wise. Also less old people watching the Apprentice all the action in the middle bands 16-54.

Yes, quite disappointing for it to end on an all time low, although there is something of a wrap-up short series next year. In the past Skins has had some +1 ratings bigger than last night's main show rating.

True. But it also showed that small plot point didn't work as people were laughing in disbelief about it. Especially as they were giving it CPR afterwards!

The best way to watch The Walking Dead in the UK is on FX Channel if you can. Just a few days after the US showing.

I said Young James Herriot was a pilot for a series. It was using the same 3 episode model that Upstairs Downstairs did with its trial run. YJH should have done what Endeavour did by staying true to the original show and not be so dour and grey. It could have worked but they messed it up. UpDown might be getting 5m in the finals but it's an expensive show. Before the BBC's Delivering Quality First initiative I'd be more optimistic but I doubt it'll return.

BGT is an advertiser's dream with that percentage of 18-49s. The Voice is a show BBC1 wanted to sit alongside Strictly as a Saturday staple but it also skews younger than a lot of BBC1 programmes usually do so they'll be pleased. And I'm amazed that Benidorm does so well in 18-49s but Mrs Brown's Boys doesn't. I thought the former would have an older appeal and the latter a younger one.

Mrs Brown's Boys skewed very similar to Benidorm with about c40% of its audience in the 18-49 bracket like Benidorm. The difference is that because Benidorm on the whole gets higher viewing figures than MBB, it's picked up more of those 18-49s generally, but the skews overall are very similar. I imagine if MBB's audience grows again next series, it'll be picking up a similar kind of 18-49 audience as Benidorm is doing at the moment.
