I picked the red ending (destroying the Reapers) and had the survival scene at the end with Shepard under a ton of rubble and takes a deep breath, and then it ends.
I'm hoping for them to fix the endings via DLC (free) hopefully. I just want closure for my Shepard and the ones I have grown to care about in this series. |

Yeah, I guess you're right. One can still hope though, right?
![]() I'll still buy it if it isn't free. I just would love an ending that the fans deserve. |

So after reading about an app for iOS that has some interviews with Casey Hudson et al, it seems that the endings were on purpose and there wasn't any indoctrination going. Haven't seen it myself though.
Personally, I think Bioware went to EA at some point before xmas and said that the game wasn't satisfactory but EA told them to get it out before the end of the financial quarter/year. I really wouldn't be surprised, EA are a big business and will have shareholders to answer to. The release of ME3 will have boosted their turnover/profits nicely I imagine. |

after playing since the original game came out, and importing my character from ME1 all the way to ME3, i hope it doesn't end this way for Shepard!
How can you have DLC, if the main man is dead? |

The Ending is good in the way the final no-win sacrifice was made and the cycles stopped - this is the only way it could go. Life doesn't always have "happy" endings. The ME3 ending is emotional and epic - but we all need to realise it is a ending. You could have a very forgettable "Boom- yeah we all won - the end" but that to me wouldn't be as acceptable or memorable. However there are loose ends and VERY confusing shots like the loss of Mass Relays, Normandy crash scene and Grandfather+Child scene. Even the shot of a surviving person/Sheppard. - wtf is all that about ? ? ? Thats what's making things worse - not Sheppard's ultimate heroic sacrifice. I really cant see them putting this ending out after such a excellent game up until the point of the light lift. With so many unanswered questions and holes unless it was intentional. It may be leaving all the doors open for ME4 |

I had the green explosions.
At first I kinda thought it was ok. It was the end and that was that. Yes the Joker/crew mates thing was very odd...how did they get to wherever they were? Why did Joker fly the Normandy away from Earth with Shephards crew? Perhaps the conversation with the Star Child on the Citadel didnt happen in real time and so everyone thought Shepherd had died and the catalyst hadnt worked and so they were running from the Reapers? but then the Star Child is telling Shep she doesnt have much time to make a choice....kk Basically the more the end sinks in the more in sucks. The Mass relays are gone, everyone is pretty much stranded in the Sol system, with no where viable to land and little supplies. The game had amazing bits and whilst some of it was lazy that could be forgiven. But the end cant be forgiven. I cannot see how it can be salvaged without them saying that everything after the beam onto the Citadel was a dream. http://www.gamefront.com/mass-effect...fans-are-right |

2. Yes. The Relays are gone. They only existed as a means to control space faring species in the first place. Now they all have to make their own way, and not rely on techonology they do not understand, and had no hand in creating. The relays were destroyed by the Reapers this time, not an asteroid like in Arrival. 3. The "kid" is The Catalyst: The AI that controls the Reapers, for for all intents and purposes, the "kid" is the Reapers. The crucible added a new perspective to the AI, which is why he turns away from his "solution". Harbinger was the Reaper who was firing rapid lasers at you, when running towards the beam. The best ending is a matter of perspective I guess. I consider Synthesis the best as it ends the cycle, and improves all sentient life. 4. No, the illusive man was indoctrinated. We do not see the beam tearing through Sheperd, so it's reasonable to assume that he avoided it enough to avoid death. 5. No one knows where the Normandy crashed, it will likely be continued in further DLC, or in the next game in the Mass Effect series. The grandfather and kid are no one in particular, they only exist to emphasis the fact that Commander Sheperd is the stuff of legend, although the grandfather is voiced by Buzz Aldrin. |

To just dump the whole of the Normandy team on a remote planet, and not say or give any idea of how they will live/survive kinda was one of the big issues I had with the ending. I had Kaidan, my Shepards LI with me on the final mission and when they show the Normandy crash on the planet, he walks out of the Normandy like nothing happened. Instant teleportation!

Even the ending goes along the lines of "Shepard died a legend but now you have the chance to carry on and play Multilayer and DLC". Doesn't mean he comes back alive or explains what happens next. Even the Grandfather and Child seems to imply they (Normandy) were stuck on a planet with no reach to the stars and Shepard was a legend. They have a BIG mess to get out of - unless its all planned. |

Thinking about it, the destroy ending is probably the worst possible ending, whether Shepard lives or not, because the Citadel and, more importantly, the Reapers are destroyed. Think about it, the Reapers will probably know how to rebuild the mass relays and the last time we see the galaxy map they are spread all over the galaxy, meaning they could have the relay network back up and running in just a few years.
Also, in the control ending the citadel survives, which could give some hope to the Turians and Quarians in orbit of Earth because there will likely be stores of supplies that they can use to survive in the short term. At the very least the Reapers could be used as scouts to try to find appropriate planets for them to use in the mean time. Plus the Quarians probably know a thing or two about surviving in situations like this. |

The storyline is obviously set up in a way that the developers have a specific vision of how the next series will play out, which is why the endings are not fundemantally different from each other. They want your decision, be it control, destroy or synthesis, to continue. |

The destroy ending is slightly different from the others in that the Reapers all crumble, and EDI does not appear at the end.

I did during conversation in the Citadel - I think in the docking bay. It was way before all the stuff with her sister. I then offered support to her over the rest of the game and then banged Ashley. |
