I've just seen the Brit Award Nominations, what do u guys think about them?
I think they are a load of ****!
U2 aint nominated for anything! while guess what.....Robbie Williams gets loads yet again! he has no talent.
1 nomination for Linkin Park, a band not known by 99% of people a year ago but in 2001 they only sold 6 million albums, had sold out tours all over the world and Hybrid Theory has been in the UK Album chart for over a year, but obviously not as talented as good old robbie!
No mention for Papa Roach, Staind or any other nu metal bands!
Gorilliaz are up for 6 awards including best british group, they've only had 2 songs!
Best Int Male Solo Artist inclue Ryan Adams......Ryan who?????? more like.
Craig David is up for best album, the same album that was nominated last year!
Best British Singles include: Bob The Builder "Mambo No5" and Atomic Kitten "Whole Again"....need i say more!

Ryan Adams is really good. Download "The Rescue Blues or New York/New York")

I also thought the nominations were shite but then again the Q awards and Brats are always better thena the Brits for Alternative Music. The Brits are for the Pop Kids

It's a bit of a shambles really. What did Craig David do last year? Two out of the five nominations in the 'Best Album' category were nominated last year

On the plus side, The Strokes have 3 nominations. And Frank Skinner is presenting!

Also Atomic Kitten are nominated for Best Newcomer for the 2nd year running!

Anyway, to an earlier poster, i love their song, "Whole Again"!

Coldplay Trouble - Best Video

Great song, average video but the album it was from was released in.... 2000

mmmm....

Best Newcomer is a toughie because I like Starsailor, Turin Brakes etc but I don't want them to win it. I would rather Gorillerz won it. A Q or Brat would mean more to the serious music fan

I think they are a load of ****!

I hate the Brits and the fact that it doesn't really recognise all music just British (apart from the couple of international awards), I don't care what nationality an act is - its the music that counts and if we have to have specific awards just to recognise British artists then it doesn't say a great deal about the British music industry!
But having said that heres my response to your comments............

U2 aint nominated for anything! while guess what.....Robbie Williams gets loads yet again! he has no talent.

Well U2 ain't British and didn't they get the international award last year - I agree about Robbie Williams though, wish he'd disappear up his own rear end!

1 nomination for Linkin Park, a band not known by 99% of people a year ago but in 2001 they only sold 6 million albums, had sold out tours all over the world and Hybrid Theory has been in the UK Album chart for over a year, but obviously not as talented as good old robbie!

Again - i like this band but they aren't British!

No mention for Papa Roach, Staind or any other nu metal bands!

Errr......ditto!

Gorilliaz are up for 6 awards including best british group, they've only had 2 songs!

But also an album

Best Int Male Solo Artist inclue Ryan Adams......Ryan who?????? more like.

Ryan who??????

Craig David is up for best album, the same album that was nominated last year!

Crazy!!!! Just shows the state of the British music industry!

Best British Singles include: Bob The Builder "Mambo No5" and Atomic Kitten "Whole Again"....need i say more!

Mmmmmmmm Atomic Kitten....say no more - just get them on!

I think Dido should win as many awards as possible!

Dido isn't up for Best Newcomer anymore, they made a mistake (Radio1 last night). Someone I have never heard of is replacing her.

Although I like Atomic Kitten, I think it's bloody stupid that they have been nominated for best newcomer. They were in that catogory last year, and released their first single in 1999. I realise it's not their fault, but maybe they should point it out to someone.

I suppose because of Kerry leaving and Jenny joining the group, maybe that's why they been allowed as a new band.

It's wrong, I'd rather see another obscure artist nominated.

The brits are a joke. They have that silly Monkey toy interviewing people!

How sad. Could you imagine the MTV Music Awards employing the Sky "Bob" man? Its so silly!
