Two headbangers this week

I wish they'd concentrate on some impressive skating skills rather than dangerous tricks and lifts

It's got to the stage where it seems they want accidents to happen so that they get better ratings

“To make it even harder, the show’s skating legends Jane Torvill, 54, and Christopher Dean, 53, have ordered them to do the move like professional skaters.

In previous attempts this series the girl has always ended the move lying on the ice, but tomorrow they will have to land on their feet.
”

Nina IS a professional skater so she has an advantage over Jorgie

They must be desperate for Matthew and Jorgie to finish the final two - giving this lift to both of them

Maybe the other 2 don't want to do it or can't do it?

From looking at the video Torvill and Dean made a big point about Jorgie landing on her feet but didn't mention anything about Matt and Nina doing it so I presume Matt's doing it normally?

not really as going in and out of the headbanger the "professional" way requires skill from the guy too they need to hold the female's leg in the correct way in order for the female to be able to put their foot down on the ice and to balance enough when spinning around to get out of the move properly

I agree, as I'm sure Chico would be just as capable as Matthew to give it a go ......... I would think that because Jen is pretty tall in relation to Daniel that it would be more difficult for them to attempt the headbanger

I'd really rather see quality, fast skating but the headbangers keep on coming. They don't add anything to the routine IMO.

I agree, I find it all a bit ungainly and because of the entrance and exit to them it makes the routine seem very disjointed ... but I suppose it gives them something to fill the VT up with

Me too, I hate the headbanger, I can't watch in case it all goes wrong.
I prefer to see them doing small jumps, spins etc.

Or is it to ensure that neither Jorgie or Matt end up at the top of the leaderboard?
Both Jorgie and Sam Attwater didn't score that well and lost their places at the top of the leaderboard when they did their headbangers.

yeah it's now become more about the danger factor and how they hope that will boost rating more than some nice skating skills

The word I dread most when I'm watching DOI is "headbanger" It looks so dangerous but bores me rigid.

Sam was with Brianne, not Jorgie last year

He lost marks for 'travelling' over the ice instead of spinning on the spot, plus the effect was marred with Brianne having to 'sweep' the ice with her arm so make sure she didn't hit her head ,

I think the person's referring to Jorgie doing the headbanger earlier this series .... she was top of the leaderbard the week before but dropped to 2nd place the week she did her headbanger and was criticised by Robin for sloppy footwork and not going in and out of the headbanger properly.

I dislike the headbanger...it was impressive before, but far too many people are doing it now to be impressive. I'd much rather watch a slow, lovely routine than a rock'n headbanger one.

When they put a headbanger in a realy nice slow romantic routne it totally spoils the emotional connection of the dance ... if two people are interpreting being in love on ice they do nice romantic spins and lovely balletic lifts ... they don't swing each other round by the ankles nearly smashing their faces on the ice

From the Sam and Mark preview on the official site it looks like Jorgie and Matt have a romantic routine so why on earth spoil it with a stupid headbanger

I switch over to another channel for 6 minutes every time the adds come on so as to avoid them and miss part of the VT and if I think there is going to be a headbanger I close my eyes and turn the sound off. Looks like I will miss most of the show tonight.

With you on this one, YL. I cover my eyes and peep through my fingers when it's on.

I really don't like the headbanger. It's so clunky and awkward and I would have thought that it's dangerous for a male celeb to do.

One headbanger =

Two headbangers = :yawn::yawn:

The VT will be full of how dangerous it all is. The simple answer is, don't do it.

Let's have some good skating instead, please.
