well i think out of all the ladies who have had success and the closest thing to being beyonce's competition, well i think rihanna is the only who has been the only one who has survived in beyonce's thunder. ashanti and ciara who have been at one point been in her thunder and thought of being the closest competition to beyonce well they were a fail. beyonce has been going at this now for 15 years and ri ri has been in the game for 7 years and if she continues to do well then she might even create her own thunder if she continues this reign for her.

ashanti was bey's first competition from 2002-04 was the closest competition with her being the go-to girl for hip hop and hip hop collaborations alone. her first two albums were big and successful and scoring off hits too cracking the top 10. with her collaborations with the big name rappers at the time she was relevant at that time. but fell apart after a while so she disappeared quietly. due to record label trouble so if her old record label had trouble then ashanti did too.

ciara was bey's second competition from 2004-06 was also the second closest competition to her with her debut being big as was her 2nd album as well. something went a miss after her 2nd album that's when her commercial success went in decline. her record label probably didn't treat her right so now with a new record label maybe she can get career back on the right path maybe not as big as it was 8-10 years ago. but she should've been probably big because of her dancing and her dancing was the closest thing to janet jackson and some even compared her to janet even. she even got aaliyah comparisons too but not enough to stay relevant.

now rihanna the closest thing to being beyonce's competitor right now and the only one to survive in beyonce's thunder as well. if she continues doing this then she'll make even a thunder of her own and even make a name for herself too. She already has achieved 11 number ones in the U.S. in just 7 years into music. She has achieved hits like Umbrella, Don't Stop The Music, Disturbia, Live Your Life, Rude Boy, Love The Way You Lie, Only Girl In The World, What's My Name? and We Found Love. That's quite alot of hits. More than Beyonce even!! Since RIhanna has released more singles and right now is the go-to girl for hip hop also so she's like right now the big thing right now in music. It feels like Ri Ri has released more singles and been a solo artist onger than Beyonce has. So maybe Ri Ri can have a thunder of her own.

Is your knowledge limited to Beyonce, Rihanna and Whitney? Seriously, your threads never provoke interesting debate.

i wish people would stop bashing the op, its simple just don't open his threads if they are no interest to you.

i think on topic, rihanna has been around long enough now not to just disappear without further hits, like other before. she`s not the artist, the talent or the performer beyonce is though.

For some reason i thought Zenyatta was a her. I agree that if the subject doesnt interest u then dont comment.

Rihanna is firmly established and she aint going anywhere. She could even have an album that flopped and she would still be a major name, similar to Madonna in the 90s with her weak 1992 and 1994 albums. In the UK alone Rihanna is certainly bigger than Beyonce.

It's true though that they're always essentially the same question and the posts are barely legible!!

No, your threads are wrong, and unreadable, and repetative, and stuck in the same vein, going over and over again.

But they clog up the first page of the music forum. They appear to be written by someone with a low grasp of the English language, who should really be posting on American forums as that is where she/he is based. They go on about the same female singers ALL the time. They ramble on about nothing, and I cant resist clicking on them to see what crap is being written that day

Rihanna maybe popular because of her stripper antiques and catchy 'rude' songs but beyonce is pure class and talent. There's no comparison. You got to be greedy and dedperate to keep re-leasing single after single like rihanna.

The only thing I'd disagree with is that Ashanti and Ciara were failures. Especially Ashanti, she was MASSIVE at one point. I know she's not that popular at the moment, but that short space of time alone where she was everywhere has been enough for her career to be a "success" imo.

What is the point of this thread? There isn't really much to discuss because you've just done that.

The problem is it's basically the same thread on the same three or four artists regurgitated over and over and over again.

The sheer volume of the OP's threads means that other interesting threads are being demoted to page 2 and lost.

It's ridiculously annoying and, for me, is ruining the forum.

Not really. I think there's a clause in her contract. Bar GGGB she's released an album every year. There's something to it, some contracts state that you must put out an album per year. And Rihanna's popular for the tunes rather than her performances of what's my name and s&m her only 2 big real sexed up performances. Her behavioiur is an add on.

Lol Ciara and Ashanti? They were NEVER in the game. Just two passing fads that were nice to look at. The same with Christina Milian....none of them were ever going to last that long. Rihanna was heading that way too, but she got lucky with GGGB and good promotion which pretty much turned her into the star she is today....

Had she not had that album she would have ended up the same as those other girls. Beyoncé was pushed by several people in the industry plus her status from DC meant that she was always going to be a huge solo star.

Rihanna has been clever enough to distance herself from Beyoncé now....she's stopped focusing on the R&B route and has fully established herself as an island pop diva, as seen with Loud and Talk That Talk....I actually think that at this point in their careers, the Beyoncé/Rihanna comparisons are no longer valid.

I think rn Rihanna is a bigger artist than Bey - not better but definitely more popular

have u ever heard of the horse zenyatta???? am a huge fan of that horse that went 19 or 19 but could've been 20th in the breeders cup classic in 2010 but the jockey messed up imo if people follow horse racing closely.

i think ashanti was the most expected star to last along time but something went wrong toward the end of her 15 mins of fame.

I'm sure you mean well @gpk but no one is bashing the OP. The few people complaining about his threads have a fair point and I agree with them.
Sure, if we are not interested then we don't have to open the threads but they are everywhere and the op keep opening new ones every single minute of the day. At first, it was refreshing and giving place for a different debate. Months down the line, with the same topics being recycled in every thread he opens with meaningless, mundane starting points, it is rather annoying!? At least if they were amusing, it'd still be bearable but they are not even that entertaining:yawn:
I also wish the OP had a more mature approach to his threads instead of acting like a wannabe DS moderator or a victimised child as soon as a poster get critical of him:sleep:

I agree, I wasn't making a personal dig at the OP. I just don't see why new threads constantly pop up that don't make any sense. Then whenever anyone disagrees, the big bad mad red face comes out.
