GoRo.co.uk: Future song suggestions for Rowetta...

I think Simon is doing a pretty great job already with song selections for Rowetta, but is there anything all you GO RO! fans out there would like to see her perform...?

I wouldn't say I was a Rowetta fan as such - but I would like her to sing somewhere over the rainbow again. That is the song in the boot camp when I really thought WOW she can sing.

I think she needs a really good soul song - maybe some aretha franklin or something.

Edit: on another note did anyone hear Rowetta say - 'that's because you put me on first Simon' when they Kate was reading you was safe, and Rowetta's name was one of the latter ones to get called ?

I'd love her to do 'Cry me a River'.How fabulous would that be?

I'd also like to hear a whole lot longer of the singers now.

Agree with that sentiment. I want more time spent on the singers performing rather than listening to the judges squabbling with each other. The show lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes which is plenty of time to have all the acts perform a song in its entirety.

Summertime.

I think she would do the most incredible version of that. Something really earthy and deep. I think it would be amazing. I can just about imagine her doing that

Anything by The Walker Bros...PIV prefers "My Ship Is Coming In" but "The Sun Ain't Gonna Sun Any More" wouldn't be too shabby either.
Word to SC....think about what song emotions or lyrics best suit our British Diva....IMO matching a song to an artist is an art form in it's own right.
That's why PIV loves The Walker Bros, their songs always sound like mini operas to me,really cool.

'Search for the Hero' - M People. I think Rowetta could do this well. Up to now she hasn't made me sit up and want to listen, but this is one of my favourites and I think Rowetta has the strength and tone of voice to do it proud.
