First tablet
I'm thinking of getting myself a tablet. Main uses will be watching video whilst traveling on planes/trains, and web browsing away from home. BBC iPlayer, 4OD etc support very desirable. Decided WiFi is good enough so not interested in 3G.
Started off being tempted by the Archos 10.1 G8, but have been put off this, despite the attractive price, by tales of unreliability, and what looks like poor screen brightness. Carphone Warehouse suggested Blackberry playbook, which looks nice, but its only a 7" screen and runs Blackberry proprietary OS, which to me is a worry. I think I prefer to go with Android rather than Apple. So I've looked at and quite liked the Motorola Xoom. Any suggestions and comments from owners of any of the above or similar very welcome. |

You say you want 3G, have you looked at your mobile phone contract and seen if your can tether with that ? Given the rise of WiFi hotspots around the place I find in London, at least, that its getting easier and easier to get online. Even my Tesco store had WiFi I noticed today
Might save you a few quid maybe... |

id seriously look at the ASUS Transformer.... either the original or the newer 'Prime' .... The original should be easy to find on ebay from those keen to always have the newest.
Its a great hybrid that nicely bridges the gap between tablet and netbook. |

Yeah, the transformer is still one of the best android tablets out there and I believe now upgraded to ICS.
