We have two boxes, i've worked manual tune fine on one, but on the other, there's no option to manual tune, to operate the settings, or to switch between Freesat and non Freesat, help?

Just go into the setup menu and select Manual Tune.
Select the option you want (free channels is best) and it will complete a scan.
Once it is done (and not before) non freesat mode will appear in the menu and you can look at everything it has found.
To go more advanced, install the web based channel editor, add the channels to the Freesat list and you will be able to make timed recordings of them.

Are you saying that they're both Humax?

I'm saying you didn't read what I said, the second box doesn't allow me to manual tune for some reason.

It doesn't say they are both the same (I have two boxes ). One could be say a Samsung and the other a Humax or any other combination.

If you are saying the manual tune option on one Humax isn't available, chances are it was recording when you tried it (assuming it really is a Freesat+ Foxsat-hdr).

Sorry, but you weren't specific and I thought when you replied "Humax" you meant that box was the one you couldn't tune and the other was a different brand.
I have tried manual tune on a Bush HD box and it is an entirely different process to my Humax.
Hopefully the answer given by grahamthompson above has resolved it for you.
