Barclay Sandy. Champion apprentice in 1966 he was chosen at 20 by Noel Murless for the plum job as stable jockey at Warren Place in 1968 replacing Piggott and was an immediate success winning amongst other big races the Coronation Cup, Eclipse and King George on Royal Palace that year. His time there was short lived and in 1971 he took the job of retained jockey for Francis Boutin's stable in France where he was very successful and later also rode in India.

Dayjur. European Sprint Champion in 1990 when he won the Temple, Kings Stand and Nunthorpe Stakes, the Haydock Sprint Cup and the Prix de l'Abbaye. He lost the Breeders Cup Sprint by a neck that year due to jumping a shadow on the course twice in the closing stages, he'd jumped a shadow previously at Longchamp. He is the third highest rated sprinter by Timeform on a mark of 137.

French trainer who left universtity with a law degree but went into racing as a groom and work rider and went on to be the leading French jump jockey before turning his hand to training firstly over the sticks and then the flat. He has been French champion flat trainer 24 times and has trained a record 7 Arc winners and is one of the most successful trainers worldwide winning top races in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Canada and the US.
