just a work-out but I agree with you about the lack of competition for prize money. Joe Mercer was interviewed on Channel 4 and whilst he recognised Frankel as a great horse, he wouldn't go so far as saying he would have beaten Brigadier Gerard but he did say he didn't think Frankel would stay a mile and a half. I think Frankel has both the class and the pace to be successful and top class at a mile and a half and I have no doubt he would have beaten Brigadier Gerard, good as he was.
.....I can't think of a big mile and a quarter race between Ascot and the Juddmonte. It'll be interesting to see if O'Brien tilts at him in the Juddmonte, perhaps with a certain 3 year old who will have a serious weight advantage at the time of year when it counts. Question is, would the O'Brien camp risk defeat?
