Quite Good - 1993 US-bred colt by Quiet American with career earnings of $62,000.

Quite Good wasn't quite as good as Brilliant (2003 colt by War Chant) whose career prize money amounted to $727,000.

However No Good (1985 filly by Market Fever) wasn't quite as good as Quite Good because she doesn't appear to have won anything at all.

Bath, the UK's highest flat raceourse where in 1953 a ringer called Santa Amaro ran under the name Francasal and the telephone line to the race course was cut so on-course bookies were unaware of the heavy off course bets being laid on Francasal who started at 10-1. In todays money the gamble landed £1m, however the perpetrators were subsequently brought to trial and convicted, one of them a Cardiff bookmaker, Gomer Charles, was shot to death by burglars 13 years later.

Going Stick. Courses have been required to provide readings since 2009 at the declaration stage and on race day. The lower the reading the softer the ground is.
