Sporting Yankee, aptly named colt being owned by William Hill Racing Limited. The highlight of the career of the son of Vaguely Noble was winning the Racing Post Trophy in 1976 when William Hill began their sponsorship of the race which was then known as the Futurity Stakes.

Gatwick Racecourse - open for business from 1891 to 1940 after which it was requisitioned by the Air Ministry.

Gatwick Airport South Terminal is on the site once occupied by the home turn, grandstand & paddock. The rest of the course reached up to and beyond the North Terminal.

Keeneland - horse racing and thoroughbred sales operation in Lexington, Kentucky.

The conservatively managed Keeneland was the last racecourse in the US to broadcast race commentaries over its PA system. The track finally conceded defeat in 1997.

Also most of the racing scenes in Seabiscuit were filmed at Keeneland, apparently because the place has hardly changed since Seabiscuit himself was around.
