Rooster - rock/pop group formed in 2002.
The band name derives from vocalist Nick Atkinson collecting £250 from a bet on subsequent (2003) Champion Hurdler Rooster Booster. |

Starlight express- mare trained by Emma Lavelle who broke her maiden at the eight attempt, and then refused to race in her next two starts and then putting in 2 lifeless efforts (pulled up) before presumably being retired.

Dead Jockey - Frank Hayes is almost certainly the only corpse ever to win a race.

Further reading on Frank Hayes reveals that in allowing Sweet Kiss to keep the race the Jockey Club waived all the usual rules.
I was curious to know whether the luckless rider was carried to the scales for the weigh-in. Probably not. But the key question arising out of this incident is surely whether or not horses need jockeys on top. After all, the horse was carrying dead weight up the home straight and still managed to win. |
