Last year we looked like we were improving, dont know what Johnson's done this year but we seem to have gone backwards and are playing like we did under that other Aussie Matt Williams

Tennis man - the 5 second rule was introduced to stop the scrum half just leaving the ball in the ruck and wasting time by running down the clock. The ref can now say the ball is available and must be passed or run with. Failure to do this results in a scrum to the other side. We saw that happen when France had the ball in their 22 and did nothing.
But why not make it instant? If a side has a 10 phase sequence, within the laws, they can still take almost a minute off the clock. But my main grip is that to delay passing wears away at the spectacle; it stops momentum and jars flow of the play. It's as of the authorities decided to deal with the problem but not quite - 'We don't want you running down the clock but we'll let you do it a bit.' Finally, if to break this law means that there's a scrum, oh no, here we go with an average of 3 attempts and at least a minute wasted, if not more, just to get the ball back into play. Time for me to reach for the remote! PS Will still watch this afternoon and attempt to enjoy it....I promise

Predictions with teams to win in bold:
Wales v France England v Ireland Italy v Scotland I think all 3 matches will be very tight. You were right about one game being tight though!

Good game, May should have scored and England should have taken the kick just before half-time

Have been impressed with the Irish back moves, while for England Farrell is kicking too much

England playing very well in this game, they have left 10+ points behind them ... Looking for a big Irish performance in the second.

Glad that the BBC are FINALLY calling out Farrell on his general brattish-ness. It's one thing to be spiky, another to be a complete idiot - I know he's young but he's creating quite a reputation for himself.
Come on Ireland!

I thought it might just be me, judging harshly, thinking that Farrell is something of a petulant child... Glad to know I'm not on my own.

![]() He gets away with it mainly because "oh, he's still young" but he's 20 years old with a load of international caps, time to grow up! Edit: Wikipedia tells me he's actually 22. Which is even worse. YAY IRELAND YAY! |
