I am trying to accept that England winning this game puts Wales in a better position.
*whispers*come on England*/whispers* Mike Brown is a great player though. I'd love to steal him and Lawes for Wales

Fair dues to England, thankfully for Ireland there's still a large points differential in their favour.

I thought England shaded it, but Ireland are still going in the right direction and could yet win the championship.

I think both teams deserve a lot of credit for playing attacking, exciting rugby, combined with huge commitment

It will be one of the two to win it ... By far and away England and Ireland are the best teams on current form.

Wales were great yesterday though and no guarantee England will defeat them at Twickenham.

Evening, I normally don't bother with rugger, my family were always football( which I've given up on as it's too greedy and boring nowadays), but this 6 Nations season has sparked a bit of interest. I live in a rugbly league area, which I find too stop and start, but there is a moderate interest in rugby union locally. How do I get more interested as my knowledge is very slim?

I live in Oldham so also in a Rugby League area but also quite close to Sedgely Park who are just off the M62 near Bury / Whitefields. They are a good standard (although struggling this season, I think) and the place is easy to find, easy to park at, not too expensive to get into and has good facilities (stand, clubhouse etc). You'd get a friendly welcome too. |

I think they will, England are very very hard to break down and they were very unlucky against France. If Ireland can beat France in Paris then I think we will win the championship if not England will take it.

With respect I seem to remember the same things being said last year, England were built up as clear favourites gong into the last match against Wales . The rest as they say is history. For me I think it may well be England's year but it's still very much a four horse race.

We'll see, still recon it will be either Ireland or England for the championship - the quality and intensity of rugby played today far exceeded anything Wales or France have shown us so far this year.
England are good but still lack that little something outside of their (excellent) pack - their lack of any world class wingers would worry me if I was an England fan (you can't rely so much on Brown), they have a brat of a fly-half who is easily rattled and coaxed into flying off the handle (he reminds me, in temper, of Mike Phillips [especially when he played for the Blues] and teams had loads of success in basically getting in his face and winding him up. If I was Gatland I would be telling my players not to leave Farrell alone), their centres are average at best if Tuilagi isn't there..... (not to mention that England still have to play Wales. We've been patchy and living off hype for ages but nothing seems to hype this squad up more than the prospect of beating England. Burrell/Twelvetrees v North/Roberts? May v Cuthbert? If we manage to live with them up front our backs [on paper] are miles better. Bar Halfpenny/Brown, of course. I'm looking forward to it, should be a great game )

Agreed - and my money would be on Ireland.

Also, going forward Ford will be at 10 for England, so not a massive issue. For sure the game on the 9th will be interesting, I think at a neutral ground I'd go with Wales to win but I think the Twickenham factor will play a role and yesterday's game was a superb win against an Irish team who completely schooled the Welsh so who knows... |

I'm not overly worried by the lack of Wingers... Nowell looks like he could develop well, he's still very young and is trying things which is great to see. I can see Manu going on to the other wing next year when he's back as Burrell is playing well and Mr Burgess will head into the centres as well.

Also, going forward Ford will be at 10 for England, so not a massive issue.. He was abrasive and sure of himself but I don't ever remember him making the level of cheap shots Farrell Jnr does - and I watched him a lot. To say he plays the same way as his son is slightly unfair to the dad I think!Farrell's list of achievements are all more confirmation that he should grow up a bit. I have no idea why no-one even attempts to wind him up because goodness knows it would work. You're right about Ford though, so all of this is more than likely irrelevant (I just hate brattish players, Farrell and Ashton are top of my list, Farrell maybe worse because [other than the Beeb yesterday] no-one ever mentions it)I like your confidence re your wingers, I don't think I would share it if I was English but you do you

think Ireland will beat France, even though the french in Paris are better than away. But they look ordinary and like they are imploding.
Is Lagisquet assistant coach? He had Biarritz playing the worst rugby in the history of the club when he was coach there. |
