opportunist MP tries to attack Warbourton saying he's Welsh and Britsih

I'm confused (from my English/British/Afro Caribbean viewpoint), what exactly is wrong with Sam stating that he's British. Technically he didn't actually say that anyway when referring to Nowell's 'hate English' quote (would it have mattered if he did?).

At no point did Sam say he wasn't proud to be Welsh, all he did was downplay media hype about Welsh hating English.

Jonathan Edwards should be a bit more like his athletics namesake

It baffled me too. I often define myself as British because Welsh isn't a regular option on a lot of forms, doesn't mean I'm not proud to be Welsh. I admire Sam for putting himself out there and trying to calm the tension for the game.

What a reception when he came off! I'm an emotional wreck Great, great performance. Did a team ever, ever so deserve a grand slam?

Ah it was an exceptional goodbye to the man - today he was brilliant again ... once in a generation player no doubt and wouldn't it be fantastic for him to end it in Paris lifting the championship 14 years on from when he announced himself on the world stage with that hat-trick of tries - oh the memories http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWr9Oz-cnzI

I am bursting with pride. Ireland can lack panache at times, they can lack power, they can lack finishing; but they never lack heart. I think I'll have to get some blood pressure medication before next weekend..............

Championship undoubtedly any other result would seem a travesty now, but Grand Slam no - they're not quite good enough to change history

Next year maybe

If Ireland lose in Paris and thus finish on 6 points, then their points difference buffer will not matter if another team reaches 7 points or better

I'm hoping France beat Scotland. If the French get beaten here their lives will be at stake in the final match Either way, from an Irish point of view, we have to beat them. Also, it makes it a two-horse race between France and Ireland and takes England out of the equation.

Yep Ireland need to beat France in Paris to secure the Championship - its in our own destiny though because our points difference is so good as you say.

Well if France and England finish on 8 points and Ireland 6, then England would win the title as long as France win their last 2 games narrowly

France have played very little rugby in this match, the question is will they get what they deserve?

Question is, will France be more dangerous in Paris going for the Title or if they are trying to salvage their season (if Scotland win that is)

It looks like they're pulling this one back. So if Wales win tomorrow, and Scotland won today, would that mean that Ireland could win without beating France? (am seriously befuddled now ) No, shag it, we still have to win to beat Wales....................
