The French supporters halt the beer drinking as they watch that penalty kick.

Ian McGeechan will now whine on and on and on ...... after bigging up Scotland at half time!!

I do sometimes wonder how this man motivated the Lions, he always seems a bit benign when speaking.

Who knows what mindset the French team will be in next week, Ireland must fancy their chances and good luck to them

What a reception when he came off! I'm an emotional wreck Great, great performance. Did a team ever, ever so deserve a grand slam?
Eh?

I'm Irish but am really confused by this, England were great value for their win in Twickenham

How in the name of all that's holy did Scotland lose that game?... It is though a perfect result for Ireland in terms of not having to deal with a French backlash next week.

The French team is currently a shambles, so this may be a good time to go to Paris

That is a great interception by the French.

It is easy when you are in the commentary box and watching the replay.

But after the horror show in Cardiff two weeks ago should there not have been a backlash today?

They're just a poor team

Yes I can, they are unpredictable ....... even in that last minute they were stil chucking the ball around and driving forward.

I do like the Frech flair.

If either Wales or England finish on 8 and if France beat Ireland narrowly, then France's points difference is against them

Well the winner tomorrow could always lose next week.

Highly unlikely but stranger has happened. I mean Italy should probably have won in Twickenham last year, though I think England are better all round right now

It'd be crazy though if it somehow happened, France should have lost 3 by now

Think Gatland's musings this week has basically written Stuart Lancaster's team talk for him Yes it would be ironic if Wales, England and Ireland all lose next week

Ireland have one hand on the trophy now. They have a points difference of +81. France have +3. France would have to beat them by 39 points to just get them back to 0. England have +21, Wales have +6. It's out of their hands now.

I think

If France beat them, points difference won't matter to Ireland, as they'd have lost 2 games. It may play into the French minds of course as...

Assuming England and Wales win their relatively easy games on the final week, it would likely be between the winner of tomorrow's game who'd only have lost 1, and France who'd only have lost 1, so France would have points to make up either way

Of course if Ireland beat France, then yep, neither England or Wales have a hope of making up the difference.

The final round of the championship should have simultaneous kick-offs. Playing last could be a crucial advantage for Ireland next week. All three games would be shown via the red button. BBC1 would follow the destination of the title and switch games if appropriate.

I see your point about possible advantages, but I wouldn't welcome that action - I want to watch them all, as they happen.

Nice send off for BO'D and unlucky Scotland.

That's twice France have stanched victory late on.

I think flair was mostly absent. They have a great back 3 but no one to get them the ball unless they are running a kick back.
Can't remember seeing so many poor back to back performances from them.
I even feel sorry for Scotland

Of course you're right. What would need to happen is a nice comfortable Welsh win tomorrow, leaving 3 teams in it. Then all we need is Wales to beat Scotland and France to beat Ireland by equal or less points, meaning Wales would be on 8 points with France, and win it on points.

Not a nice way to win it, and not deserved, but I'd take it. Not that I can see Ireland losing to lez Froggies.

See for me, a nice comfortable English win tomorrow England take the Triple Crown, and I'll be happy with that.

I'd then be cheering for Ireland against France despite the theoretical chance of England coming out on top if France win. I could try to justify it to myself with the England only just lost to France argument, but Ireland only just lost to England and I think all through the competition they've played the better rugby.

That and cheering for France is just , well wrong
