I agree. Although technically speaking, the tackle did fall foul law 10.4 (j) it was certainly not malicious like, you say, the one on BOD which many observers think was revenge for what was deemed as disrespectful response to the haka.
Tipuric was very unfortunate in that he made a tackle on Ian Keatley with Ian Gough, and Gough suddenly left him to it mid tackle thus Tipuric was left carrying the full weight of the player. The result was technically a tip tackle, although like Flood's not intended as such. I've played against a couple of kiwi teams, one did the Haka (it was during a tour over there), 2 of our players "fronted up" because they'd read that it was a challenge and that the Kiwis respected it... within 10 minutes both of those were off injured, clean hit but by god they were vicious. Facing the haka was one of the best experiences of my life. |

Oh this was last season after RWC 2011. Currently, aside from the 50/50 injury he has now and depending on Warburton, Tipuric should be on the team sheet albeit as a sub for the big games more than likely.
I have not had the privilege of facing any NZ teams I played for the Dubai Exiles RFC during the 1980s and we only faced expats from other Gulf countries and visiting Royal Navy ships. |

Does the hooker have to take the throw or can someone else ? It has become the hookers role but it used to be that of the wingers - each takinng their wing. In the classic Barbarians v New Zealand game that took place 40 years ago yesterday the All Black wingers certainly did it (not sure about the Baa Baas but within a couple of years the hooker would have. |

Heard that dinosaur Jim Telfer slagging of the English as 'arrogant' and the Welsh as 'lazy'. I notice he didn't add the Scottish team's flair for spoiling games and making them unwatchable over the decades.

Ask the person making the claim to cite an example and they can't. |

England can never win that argument, if they win they are claimed as arrogant, they beat New Zealand and none of the players was arrogant about it but all the oppo teams claim they are.
The New Zealand win means nothing to me if England dont do well in this six nations. Re the 8 Nations I disagaree: The squad is still developing and this tournament, for me, is about developing depth - especially in the 2nd row and at centre. Clive Woodward got his squad to a level where there were pretty much 3 teams of players that, with a few exceptions, could come in and stiill be very competitive. That's what I want to see again, and I think it's achievable. A final little gloat - a while back on here I floated that BillyTwelvetrees was one to watch, and was certainly worthy of International consideration but was told he was not, and never would be, near that mark. I see him, as a back up to Farrell as they guy who can play 10 or 12 (and I think, before long, Farrell will be surpassed at 10) and will be a very useful part of a large squad. |

When Sam Warburton was sent off during the WC , both the English and Welsh media treated him like a hero. Can you imagine the reaction of the media if an England captain had been sent off, he would have been absolutely slaughtered by the press. One journalist even made Warburton man of the match !

I thought that the first couple of times I saw 36 play... problem is I just don't think he's developed into an international centre. I see him as steady, a replacement at best. That said I still don't see anyone other than Manu as an international class centre for England...
![]() I think he's as good as some from other countries who certain commentators wax lyrical over. He is good with ball in hand, runs well and with good judgement. His kicking game is strong, certainly from the 12 spot and he's a good defender/support player. Joseph is also a centre of true international worth, just needs the breaks at the moment, and Elliot Daly should be in the mix pretty soon.. |

I see what you did there......... please don't doitagain
![]() .. I see he's been named as a starter, makes sense really... and Tom Youngs deserves to keep his place. Wish we'd have kept Burns on the bench instead of Flood though as Flood is just a bit steady where as Burns would be a nice change up if Faz isn't doing it. |

You'll have to tell all rugby players then... I first heard Geordan Murphy call him that in a bar... I think most did at Leicester.

Going to be a fascinating series again with some very close games and a few upsets I think. At the moment I am putting Ireland as favourites for the title. Will this really be the last Six Nations for Brian O'Driscoll and if it is then will the national squad really miss his presence?

England should be up there, they've got their tougher games at home, a lot rides how our 10 plays... and if we can keep 15 men on the park. |

I'm not expecting any team to win GS, so it'll come down to maths
I predict France as overall winners, with Ireland and England fighting for second spot I'm off to Twickers on Saturday, thanks to last minute resale of tickets. Hoping for a birthday present win from England team |
