Watching the Super Rugby Semi final
Can't understand the decision making Touch judge calls the referees attention to a scuffle and they go to the TV ref Crusaders player had thrown a punch at the sharks player but missed ( and ended up connecting with his own player ) . Not much of a punch but the intent was thereThe decision was a penalty and no card ...how. The Sharks capt questioned the ref about the intent and he said it didn't matter as he missed Totally wrong imo And then from the resulting pen, the Sharks messed up and the Crusaders went the length of the field and scored

The Welsh disease of losing when winning has infected the 7S at the Commonwealths.

Women's world cup started today
I watched England v Samoa on Sky........some brilliant tries from England ! ......and 'tough tackling' from Samoa.......they had some real pocket battleships in their team ! One sided score but the game was more even than the score.......Samoa just didn't have the pace to score tries whereas England were flying down the wing Good game........enjoyable watch ! |

Is anybody else watching the Women's World Cup ?
England won their second match today against Spain, not quite so easy as the first but they had made 11 changes to the team In a big shock Ireland beat NZ.......the first time the Kiwis have lost a world cup match for over 20 years ! |

Chuffed for Ireland, they've come on well in the last couple of years and it's nice to see cracks in the Black Ferns invincibility world cup wise. Should be a real competition this year. England, Ireland & France can all challenge them. Shame for Wales mind, they're dead in the water now although they do have the "pool of death" defense. It's going to be tough for them to face South Africa on Sat with only pride to play for. Nice to see sky covering more than just the odd England match as well. |

England leading 6-5 over Canada at half time in what is effectively a quarter-final with both teams having won their other group games
Tight game, not much in it........Canada are one of the top women's rugby teams Like the commonwealth games 7s it gets difficult to follow when the group games are over because everyone just seems to carry on playing matches whether they've been knocked out or not...... |

Canada take the lead with their second try......
They're not very good at kicking but they appear to be much stronger than England and are just shoving their way to England's line It's like watching the England men's team of 15 years ago...... ![]() England appear to be quicker and to be better runners with the ball Maybe when Canada tire late on our girls can run round them....... |

England back in the lead with a try and conversion, 13-10
And this time England shoved Canada back over their line from a 5 metre scrum ! Now Canada are on the attack...... great game this ! |

Well a hard game today, I think starting Katy Mclean on the bench was a mistake. England really needed her leadership and once she came on we really stabilized.
Loved the fact that we put New Zealand out of the competition by kicking the ball off the field. French forwards are monsters. Fingers crossed that Canada can put them out for us and we can sneak past the Irish - then we'll get to finish off today's game in the final. |

On current form, I'd have the Irish as favourites to beat England on Wednesday : the only team to have won three from three in this tournament and they could easily have beaten NZ by a bigger margin (and England probably should have lost to Canada today).
England were very nervous on Saturday and played well below what they've shown in the first two games. That said my head expected Ireland to beat England in the 6 nations this year and England edged it - so my heart says England can steal it again. |

what do you mean they should have lost? they should have won! the only reason they didn't was because they weren't at their best, if they were they would have beaten Canada. That said England are going to have their work cut out to beat Ireland who managed to beat the hot favourites. the bookies have England down as the favourites to win the trophy now for some reason while Ireland are the least likely to win it, dunno what the hell their thinking to be honest.
Stephen Jones in The Sunday Times for example thought England were mighty lucky to come away with a draw. Canada missed their two conversions and scored what looked like a try in the second half which was unsighted by the ref.I'd agree that Ireland look like the form team, though England have a good pedigree : should be a belter of a match. |

Well done England a brilliant performance back to their strongest. Commiserations to Ireland, when they had some ball they looked good - just so little ball to play with Come on Canada |

Well done to England, didn't think they'd be able to pull it off.
Looks like it's going to be a rematch against Canada in the final, they've beaten france 18-16 which is surprising, france are the home team and I didn't think Canada were that good at rugby, their men's team certainly aren't big contenders. Hopefully England will learn from their mistakes in there match against Canada a few days ago and hopefully take home the trophy. |
