Great defensive display, some chances Ireland should have taken but overall I'm happy enough.

Bring on England

How Parra doesn't start for France is some farce.

Few chances went begging there, hope that doesn't come back to bite us.

Points difference?

Only one way to sort that out, win everything

Either way we don't beat England may aswell hand them the slam there and then so 2 weeks is absolutely crucial

Just can't see us doing it though. France are awful, we'll need some step up. England have the edge on Ireland of recent anyhow

Jesus my heart ... delighted to get the win but as we Irish do we made hard work of it. We really should have won by 15 odd points in the end - our lineout was poor which is very strange.

Thought the ref had a poor game, didn't help either side with some baffling decisions at the scrum.

I felt Ireland were below par today and are capable of improvement. I presume England will start as warm favourites but this will surely be their toughest test of the entire championship.

The bookies have it neck and neck between Ireland and England to win the championship, looks like they're expecting a very close game.

Yep, I have England as slight favorites with their scrum and physicality. It will be very interesting though.

Interesting

I'd certainly have England as favourites for championship alright guaranteed- even if Ireland beat England, England will still win their last two games handy which is 4 wins. Zero guarantee whatsoever Ireland would beat wales and Scotland away. England will surely have better PD

England beat Ireland and they'll walk Grand Slam

.

I think the bookies are factoring in Ireland's nine match winning streak and the fact that they've beaten South Africa, Australia and France at home in the last three months.

My point is Ireland beat England and there's zero guarantee they'll win champ (Eng beat Irl last year and lost it as had tougher fixtures than this year)

England beat Ireland and they're 99% certain to do it. Having Scotland at home is a big advantage as they're not easy at all to beat away. England haven't lost to France at home in a decade and that was a vastly superior French team and experimental English one

As for the actual England Ireland game itself I'd have to judge that on match up, and current form rather than who beat who in the past year to be honest. Ireland not playing NZ obviously puts a much more positive spin on their 2014 than England who had to play them 4 times in fairness

I'm not so sure. Kearney was as solid as ever and Sexton (when on the pitch) managed the game very well. The irish loose forwards are very competitive.
They drive and maul and then kick the penalty, so England would have to execute all the basics very well to win.
I couldn't see on the rbs website who the ref is, so I don't know which team will find him preferable.

Yes, it was a good job Brian Moore wasn't commentating. It seemed Barnes was "well, I gave it Ireland last time, so I had better give it to France this time."

Well England got there in the end, but it was bit of a struggle in the first half.

Fair play to Italy who showed that they aren't just a pack dominated side and actually outplayed England during some parts of the match. Overall a poorer performance by England this week compared to win in Cardiff, but a win is a win.

Now we'll have to deal with the media hype for two weeks before the next match in Ireland. Tempting to say the winner of that will win Grand Slam, but I'm not sure any team will stay unbeaten this championship.

Roll on tomorrow's match, should be a good game.

Yeah I am, considering I typed it afterwards...!!

A missed tackle with the game completely over as a contest is not going to change my mind

What about the try he created about ten mins before
What about the try he butchered with two men outside him?

Well if England do beat Ireland I'd eat my hat if they don't win the slam

If they can't beat that fraud of a French team from yesterday there's something very wrong. They'll hammer them, worse English teams have dished out some pretty big hidings to better French teams of recent at home

Never mind England but Cardiff also really worries me as an Irish fan. They peak for a match every year. Find it bizarre people think this is Ireland's favourable year in terms of fixtures, if France continue to stay this poor and Wales don't improve Ireland will only have to peak at Twickenham to win slams in the even years going forward.

I think you have to look at the backs coaching for that. Mays failure to make the most of it is only symptomatic of England's backs failing to make use of an overlap or failing to make the right pass in many games of recent years.

Rhys Webb hopeless so far, slow getting the ball away, and what was that non effort in chasing Hogg?

I wouldn't even have him as first choice scrum half for the Ospreys, let alone Wales.

Webb does have a habit of getting on the end of trys though

Just the rest of his play is poor.

Wow, got the half time whistle to thank for Wales still being in front.

Matches between these two are always a great watch.

Half Time

Scotland 10-16 Wales.

So now we have turned into football, badgering the ref for a yellow card that never was as the Welsh lad was competing for the ball, as opposed to barging! And how long was that advantage to Scotland?!?

Stupid yellow for Russell. Scotland showing again how to squander chances.
Don't think anyone was badgering the ref for Davies' offence.
