Unbelievable performance from Ireland - fantastic scrum and defence from the boys.. A truly golden age for Irish Rugby - grand slam at stake now!

England didn't roll over, but that was a fair result. Better kicking and overall play. Great try. Intense game if hardly classic. Well played Ireland. Look forward to seeing hordes of you in my home city a week Saturday. (and Friday and Sunday and...etc knowing you lot.

Typical Inverdale, his first question was about the England comeback rather than Ireland's dynamic all round play.

Ireland nearly 100% on for the slam, unless Gatlandball can come up trumps under the biggest intensity in this tournament.
Losing will probably be good for England going in to the World Cup.The expectation of going in to that tournament held at home as Grand Slam winners would've been astronomical. The return of Corbisierio to make that monster pack even better is a formidable prospect. |

Ireland worthy winners. They had a clear game plan and executed that very well. Their kicking and chasing was very accurate. England did not match them in this and failed to exert any edge in the scrum.
I don't think England managed one turnover and gave away too many penalties and didn't know the offside law. |

Irish tackling was ferocious at the breakdown - have not seen England conceeding so many penalties at the breakdown in a very long time.

Ireland are a cert for grandslam now imo.
They'll sail through us, and Scotland a mere formality. |

Great stuff, superb first 60 by Ireland. England way too ill disciplined and made too many errors. Super intensity by Ireland with Ross, Henshaw and POM the pick. Grand Slam at stake now I don't think England will be overly disappointed, they were beaten by the better side on the day and still have lads to come back. Thought Nowell was probably their best player and Alex Goode very solid. Easter made a great impact too. Corbs and Manu T will be huge additions. Ford was very mixed, thought DC should have seen action. PS don't think that pass at the end looked forward at all! Bizarre not to go to TMO. Granted it didn't matter Quote:

The Welsh historically have been very difficult opposition for us (remember the RWC) - Certainly not a formality for Ireland. One game at a time now for us, there will be some very sore Irish bodies in the morning.

Quite enjoyed Dan Coles' "headbutt" - he must have a very solid head. Maybe he could take on Gethin Jenkins!

Fk that it's slam or nothing from here
England will batter France and Scotland anyway It could come down to PD and can see it being tight. Hopefully Ireland just batter Wales and Scotland though

Just like we would lose to England today?

Slam or nothing, like in 2009 I don't give a fk about winning a champ on points difference myself anyway. Last year was different as had to go Twickenham in fairness |

Well done Ireland, but poor from England. We gave away far too many penalties, some were forced but some were stupid.
Also what's the point of having Cipriani on the bench if you're not gonna use him. We needed to chase the game and we bring on Twelvetrees?? Still some twists left in this tournament yet I guess Ireland's grand slam is most likely outcome, but Wales away won't be easy. |
