Not the best of games with an absolutely dire pitch, but a win is a win

George Clancy shows that he is to reffing scrums, what a heatwave is to Eskimoes.
Halfpenny MoM?? Was it for the conversion? Ryan JOnes for his defence work was more worthy. France for the wooden spoon?? |

Will Howley recognise that for the past 70 minutes Mike Phillips, as usual, slows every passage of play down. Doubtless Phillips will play in the next match for another slow 70 minutes.

LOL, yes it was "well, I gave it that way last time, so it has to be the other way this time."

Were you watching the same match as me? He was superb in attack, defence & kicking game. With Kearney and Hogg, British Lions are spoilt for top-quality full-backs.

What happened to the 'play in Wales to play for Wales' policy?
I would gladly see the elbow given to a players playing in France if it meant Mike Phillips was dropped. I really don't rate him at all and I do feel that Howley and Co have their rose tinted spectacles in when it comes to him ..... either that or they are selecting him to give him a chance of proving himself for the Lions. The last two matches have proved that he just does not deliver quick enough ball to get the backs or the forwards cross that all important 'gain line'. |

Be interesting to see how Ireland v England plays out tomorrow. The English media seem to be getting confident again, but this Ireland team at home is still a big task.

LLoyd Williams on the field for about one and a half mintes, quick ball from the rucks, and try.

Everyone at our rugby club pinned Phillips as a weakness. I'd never noticed, but he takes a little two step before each pass. Once it was pointed out to me, I couldn't miss it each time. Gives the opposition a fraction of time to get closer. If I can spot it, God knows why Howley can't .
When you saw Howler celebrate today he looked more like a fan than a coach... a lot of my Welsh mates have accepted he isn't going anywhere during the 6N but are hoping Gatland bins him when they are back from Aus. |

That's quite promising really. I love watching the women's games (when they deign to show them) but really England have no competition.
Losing one game to Wales in 2009 I think gives them the title seven years in a row with six grand slams. You'd really want it to be more competative than that. Mind you I'd kill for those results in the mens game ![]() |

Dwayne Peel, Tavis Knoyle and Lloyd Williams are better scrum halves. It is quite unbelievable that James Hook cannot get into a team that previously lost eight matches in a row. Look at the Ireland scrum half today, he can't get the ball away quick enough, when it comes to the back of the ruck. |

Two good defences, lots of rain, yet another pitch cutting up
stalemate. Ireland should be ahead due to territory. Earls looks the most dangerous player.Ref has given up on the scrum. |

He's like a petulant toddler, and I'd be glad to see the back of him sooner rather than later. |

Surprising win for England. 6-3 to England during the yellow card which was unexpected. Not sure what happened to Ireland in hte last 15 mins. Lack of desire?

Strange match....the heavy rain led to a lot of handling errors.
I thought England shaded it though and showed a lot of composure (Ireland were a bit unlucky to lose two of their best players early on, but even that might not have made a difference). |

Well done England, outperformed Ireland today and their first win in Dublin in 10 years....Grand slam is not beyond them now. Great to see a huge number of English fans travelling too.

Well done England. Defended very well and took their chances.
I'm still confident of Wales upsetting their Grandslam chances on the final day in Cardiff though. We've some key players to come back. Bring it on
