Now to the Red Button forum ......... wonder whether we will see that Hogg non try again, just so that they can pore over it and judge that it was actually a try and the ref got it wrong.

Congratulations to Ireland. Deserved winners overall.

But what a magnificent days rugby. Three wonderful matches, well, two and a half if you discount the first half of Italy vs Wales.

Bring on RWC. I can't wait.

Ohhhh my, it is actually Haskell's yellow card that lost England the match .......... Stuart Hogg can breath again.

Ireland, England & Wales could all have a very big impact on the RWC - 3 possible semi finalists and could even go further... even France if they get things together.

Northern Hemisphere I don't think were ever as strong entering a RWC

Really? I thought England won that 'ten minutes' 10-7?

I dunno, they were good today. Didn't decide not to bother halfway through, like we've seen them do on other occasions. And therearen't too many visiting teams who can put thirty points on the board at Twickenham.

Any of three teams could have taken it today. Hearty congratulations to Ireland, the ones who did.

Roll on the World Cup!

What I want to know is how they share the dressing rooms out between the men and the women on a day like this?

France attacked brilliantly! As did England. I'm struggling to think of a better match I've seen, it even trumps France NZ 99 for me

They are a good team or rather they have very good players. What they don't have is a coach who makes the best of them and worse coaches out their instincts. If they had had Parra today, then it may well have been even tighter.

On a cold night in the open air I don't think a dress like that is really suitable attire!!

The one thing I'd say in their favour is that they played far better today than in any other game......they were hopeless in the first four matches.

Attacking wise both teams were good, but defence went out the window.
For me performance of the tournament was either Ireland beating England or Wales beating Ireland

I get shot down in football threads if I dare to compare both games, the discipline, and the persistent duping of the referee and their subsequent incredulity when, in their opinion, the ref makes the wrong decision.

They should have a TMO in football to decipher the diving and play acting, they would probably end up with very few players on the pitch.

No worries, but I'm a 'her'.

Nowhere near that one for me.NZ probably were the best in the world at that time but the French comeback was completely sensational.

NZ 55-37 Wales with many of our first choice players missing in the '03 World Cup was also superb.

I really want to remind Inverdale that had that Italian's foot been in touch for their final try, and a couple more kickes from Wales had gone over, without Leigh Halfpenny on the pitch, then Wales could have been champions.

Strange that he's not mentioned that scenario?

Yes, England went for broke and played with abandon in the hunt for tries and points, but unlike Italy and Scotland, they were playing against a side who were capable of hurting them on the counter attack, hence the flurry of tries.

Oops, sorry.

I remember during the last football World Cup, someone made a thread about refs in football commanding no respect and all the football nuts came into the thread with 'Fcuk off and watch rugby then'. It's not a good topic to bring up over there.

But the discipline is amazing here. And it is in most sports I guess. I don't know why footballers get away with shouting at the refs and doing the things that they do.

Actually the discipline and ref respect can be pretty bad in Garlic Football too.

And Wales did Ireland a massive favour by putting so many points on Italy. It forced Ireland to chase after a big points total against Scotland when they might have been content to settle for a 10 or 15 point win otherwise.

Also if the French kicker knew how to kick a ball then it wouldn't haven't been a contest at all.
