Looked harmless enough but I fear the worst.

Ironically the guy he did it to, Jamie George, could turn out to be the main benefactor

Some people on twitter are also suggesting Cowan Dickie

Jonathan davies out of the World Cup for Wales.

I really hope we are not starved of too many big names, but I'd be wary sadly

Hartley gets 4 match ban. Will miss 3 warm up games and first RWC match v Fiji

Good news for England I feel, Tom Youngs is far too dodgy in the lineout, Dylan is still best option by a decent bit

Worcester into the Premiership also

Wonderful to see Chris Henry back for Ireland after a mini stroke early in year. MIghty story

You think Lancaster will pick him still?

After that disciplinary record, he'll be lucky if he ever pulls on an England shirt again.

I'd be surprised if he didn't. He's a great hooker, the reason that "headbutt" wasn't picked up by the ref is because it wasn't a headbutt... he's just got a reputation now and will always be under very close scrutiny, but I don't think that translates to on the field scrutiny as there is too much going on.

Once again Bristol fall at the final hurdle in Championship play offs.

Well done Worcester, but I reckon Bristol must sick to death of always missing out.

Of course he will

I fully agree with Kieran, I said it at the time, and after seeing replays since, it was completely harmless

Home World Cups don't come around too often. I'd be very surprised if he just dumped him completely to satisfy a few of the "Love to be outraged" brigade, especially as he's a top player in a position they are very light in

Crazy match. That game and Connacht/Gloucester on Sunday were two of the best you will ever see. High scoring, free-flowing and not an inch given by anyone

The common correlation? Full on knock out rugby. It's the reason we're given so much tripe during the 6nations sadly

Wow it looks like hartley is indeed going to be dropped

Huge call by Lancaster.

I'm amazed they're not waiting till after RWC though. Very bold move, will it bite them on the backside?

Been dropped from the training squad:

Quote:
“ HookerDylan Hartley has been dropped from England's World Cup training squad after his latest disciplinary breach.

The 29-year-old Northampton captain was banned for four weeks on Wednesday for headbutting Saracens' Jamie George.

It would have ruled him out of England's opening World Cup game against Fiji on 18 September.

I appreciate Lancaster's sentiment but I really think this is a bad move for now

By all means show him door after the RWc but they're severely weakened without him. Tom Youngs is passable but if he gets injured?

Tuilagi, Armitage and Hartley now who won't feature and there'll surely be more injuries too

England are still my favourites but they're slipping down in my estimations at the minute

It's good to see that bad behaviour in rugby is still treated with the disdain it should be, even if it's at the cost of supposedly weakening your squad (though to say that Hartley is the be-all and end-all of English hookers is to do a disservice to those below him in the pecking order. At the same time, it's disheartening to see the howls of protest from so-called rugby fans about this decision. It's not as if this incident, relatively minor as it is, is the first time he's been found wanting, discipline wise.

2007 : Eye gouges two Wasps players : 26 week ban.
2012 : Cited for biting Stephen Ferris : 8 week ban
2012 : Elbowing Rory Best : 2 week ban
2013 : Swearing and accusing Wayne Barnes of being a cheat : 11 week ban and dropped from Lions
2014 : Elbows Matt Smith : 3 week ban.
2015 : Headbutts Jamie George : 4 week ban and dropped from England World Cup Training Squad

2011 : Dylan Hartley PINCHES opponent
2015 : Dylan Hartley yellow-carded for stupidity

As a comparison, in Wales, it's fashionable at the moment to see Liam Williams as the answer to our back-line conundrum. Yet for me, the guy is a downright liability who picks up red cards and sin binnings all too easily. His talent is undoubted, yet many seem to forget he cost us a win in South Africa. His ability is needed and wanted, yet I always wonder where and when his next brainfart will be. No doubt I'd want Wales to win and to field their strongest team. But I'd rather win with 15 clean players than 14 clean players and someone in the bin for being an idiot.

Looks like Glasgow are going to spoil Paul O'Connell's farewell game in a Munster shirt.

21-3 to the Scottish team after 36 minutes in the Pro 12 final.

Well done Saracens, can't say the final was all that interesting though as a neutral.

Bath never got going and Saracens defence was immense.

Looks like Glasgow are doing the business in the other final.

Even Nigel Owens hasn't been able to help out Munster for once

Another pen for Glasgow 31-13 they lead with under five minutes to go.

I'm sure last year it was on Sky Sports, a bit odd that they're not showing it this time.
