It will be intersting to see how Wales perform against Australia. They beat them every year they won a grand slam. So it bodes well for them.
Well we've got four attempts, so I'm hoping one of them pays off!

Also I'm targeting 3 out of 4 wins in the Autumn (Argentina, Samoa, NZ and Australia)

Australia, Argentina and Samoa are very winnable

New Zealand may have a bit too much for us though, although I do think we may give them at least a challenge this time and won't be steamrollered

New Zealand will be coming with virtually a B team. Kaino is off to Japan for 2 years, I think he will be the first of many to head off to make some money in between world cups.

I would think Wales have more than enough to beat them in the Autumn, if the main players in the team stay fit.

Why is Steve Walsh still there? Guy's a joke. As for card-happy Rolland....

I can't believe there is no English representation on the panel.

No Wayne Barnes. One of the few refs I have confidence in and I am not just saying that because of the Ireland game.

Oh, and Dublin were hosts to another loss at the weekend. Ospreys beat Leinster 22-23. Great result, although with everything esle related to Irish rugby these days it seems, not without its own share of controversy. Another "tip" tackle yellow card that shouldn't have been by a blatantly homer ref.

Carter and McCaw targets for Treviso

All Black duo Richie McCaw and Dan Carter are rumoured to be close to agreeing five-month sabbatical contracts with Benetton Treviso.

New Zealand skipper McCaw and star fly-half Carter are contracted with their country’s union until 2015 but both have options to take a sabbatical written into their current deals.

Back in time for the South Africa tour I see.
I'd rather any player was banned for a lot longer for biting or completely cleared. Sets a dangerous precedent.

Good old IRB again though:yawn:

Seems damn stupid to me. He commits an offence playing for England, yet it is his club which gets penalised.

Surely being banned for the next "X" England games would be more appropriate.

he got the minimum penalty, but it was reduced by 4 weeks for 'mitigation', which to me suggests the panel accept the claim that Ferris was up to no good and wasn't entirely innocent.

For once I'm actually not going to jump down the IRB's throat about this. He got the minumum penalty, but it was reduced for, what we assume to be, provocation. That sounds about right to me. Full report is out on Friday.

Yeah this is my opinion of it to. If he had bitten the ear of his opposite prop or bitten someones body I would be saying ban him for life, the whole finger biting doesnt ring true, you can see from the body positions that ferris had his hand in and around Hartlys face.

The arm break by Calum Clarke is horrible, really horrible and that lad has some previous from his England under 20's. With a flying headbutt. I feel he might be in for a long ban, it should last for as long as it takes for the guy to get back onto the field in my opinion.

Yeah I saw a video of that the other day, truly scummy stuff. Fair enough, Hawkins was making a nuisance of himself at the ruck, but you cant grab someones arm and then just pull on it, especially when you look at the angle of Hawkins' body in relation to his arm.

Nah, the player must be penalised full stop. What's to stop him committing an offence whilst in club colours. Its an incentive not to do it again.

yep, IRB got it right by giving him a lengthy ban (32 weeks takes him out until mid-November), but in comparison to other bans it still doesn't seem long enough, especially when you consider Hawkins won't play again until next season, so there'll only be a few weeks difference.

The thing that makes it worse is that Clark injured him after the whistle had gone for a penalty for his own team for Hawkins diving over the top and killing the ball. The ref had seen it and penalised it, so the fact Clark then decided to break his arm is truly despciable.

mid november when the season ends in about 4 weeks and restarts in septemeber it means he will only miss about 8 weeks of rugby. bit of a joke that in my opinion.

If you commit that foul at the start of the season you miss the whole season, commit it at the end and all you get is a longer summer break and come back fitter and stronger.

If ever evidence existed that bans should be by the game, not the week, this is it.

As a Saints fan, I don't want him playing for the club again. However if he left, top clubs would be queuing up to take him on. I wonder if Hawkins could bring a civil case against him. I also don't understand why bans can't be by matches rather than weeks.
